Happy new year everyone! I look forward to this post every year; I’ve done this at the end of every year since I started my blog and find it so interesting to look back and reflect. Me vs You 2021 – my most viewed posts and my favourite posts of the year. I’ve been really good at not checking in this year to see which of my posts are doing well longer term, so I’m hoping I get a little surprise when I open my Google Analytics this time.
Disclaimer – When I say I haven’t been checking, I obviously see which posts are doing well week after week. But sometimes when it’s time to do this post, there are a few posts that have steadily been getting views throughout the year but aren’t necessarily the most viewed at any given time that takes me by surprise when I see that trickle has added up over the 12 months. When I say I haven’t checked, I mean I’ve been avoiding looking at the stats for the year as a whole.
How This Works
The concept is very simple. But if I only shared my most viewed, there would be a lot of repeats yearly, which would get boring really quickly. So, I share the real top 5, then the top 5 that were either newly published this year, or didn’t feature in last year’s list with their real ranking in brackets after it.
My Most Viewed Posts of 2021

4. How to Get Free Waterdrop Microdrinks

2. Graze Inspired Flapjacks Recipe

Plot twist – this year’s list is mostly new additions. Posts 2 and 3 are the same as last year, although last year they were in the opposite order, but the rest of the list is new. 2021 also marks the first year that all of the top 5 have been food related posts with no beauty, which was a pleasant surprise.
Suggested Post: Me vs You 2020
But as the list is mostly new additions, I don’t think it’s worth repeating the list to show the exclusively new ones this year.
My 6th most viewed post of the year was ‘Does the curly girl method work on wavy hair?’ and 7th place was ‘Graze Style Spicy Protein Mix’, which would have been the two included if I didn’t count the repeaters.
I knew that the baked oats would take the top spot this year because it was my most viewed post every single day for the first three or four months of the year and hasn’t really dropped out of the top 10 since. That post has nearly four times as many views as my second most viewed of the year. Spots two and three are no surprise, but four and five are both ones that have gone under the radar for most of the year and crept up.
My Favourite Posts of 2021
This is very hard this year. Throughout the pandemic time has become a bit of a blur, I had one or two come to mind instantly for this list, but the rest took some time to think about.
5. Strawberry White Chocolate Cookies

I love cookies, I love making strawberries and cream inspired recipes for Wimbledon each year. And I LOVE the texture that the Urban Fruit baked strawberries gave these cookies. In 2021, I posted seven cookie recipes, but this one is my winner.
4. Peanut Butter Smoothie Bowl

It tastes like dessert, it’s really creamy, it’s actually pretty healthy and is a vegan breakfast with over 40g of protein in. It would be ranked higher if it wasn’t for the fact I live in northern England and can’t face a smoothie bowl in the colder months.
3. Popcorn Cauliflower Recipe

I was fairly confident it would take me a while to get this one right and the recipe came about much easier than I expected, and of all of my new recipes this year, this is probably one of the ones I repeated at home the most.
2. Strawberry Cheesecake Bites

I’ve already explained my love of the Wimbledon series, white chocolate is my favourite, and these little cheesecake bites were perfect.
1. Peppermint White Chocolate Cheesecake

I said in this post that it was one of my favourites ever, prior to being vegan, cheesecake was one of my favourite desserts. But only being able to eat tiny amounts of coconut kind of ruined the concept of making a vegan one. But this one with the Nush almond milk cream cheese gave the most perfect texture. Best discovery ever.
Yes, all of my favourites this year were the things I’ve enjoyed eating the most. This is a food blog, so I guess that’s how it should be.
Have you tried any of these dishes, or are you at all surprised by the most viewed compared to my favourites? I hope you have a fantastic New Year, and if anyone is attempting Veganuary this year, please feel free to ask any questions and don’t forget to have a scroll through the recipe archives.
Until next time,
Sophie
I love all your recipes! I deeply love white chocolate, so you can imagine my reaction when I saw the cookies, the bites, the cheesecake! Wanna try them all! Thank you:)
