Happy New Year everyone! It’s time for my annual Me vs You post where I compare my favourite posts of the year with my most viewed. I’ve done one of these posts every year since I started my blog, and I usually start thinking about what’s going to make my list at the end of November/ start of December. This year was tough. I was scrolling through my archives in December and the blurriness of 2020 had made me forget a lot of my content from January to March was actually this year.Â
How this works? Â
The concept is very simple. But if I only shared my most viewed, there would be a lot of repeats yearly, which would get boring really quickly. So, I share the real top 5, then the top 5 that were either newly published this year, or didn’t feature in last year’s list with their real ranking in brackets after it. Â
The final count for new posts in 2020? 190.Â
So, not making the top 5 or top 10 is far from the end of the world. Â
Me vs You 2020
My most viewed posts of 2020Â
- Too Faced Born This Way Foundation ReviewÂ
- Hungarian Solet RecipeÂ
- Graze Inspired Cacao Vanilla Flapjack BitesÂ
- Biscoff Milkshake RecipeÂ
- Testing Revolution Skincare
All of these posts other than #2 featured in last year’s list, so it would be a little dull if we left it there. Â
My Most Viewed New Posts of 2020Â
5. XX Revolution Glow Foundation Review (11)Â
Revolution posts usually do very well, but I wasn’t sure how popular the new XX Revolution line was, so I was still surprised to see this one in my top 5 newer posts. Â

4. Brownie Batter Baked Oats (10)Â
Pinterest loved this one when I first posted it earlier this year. Seeing this one here isn’t a shock at all. Â

3 Vegan Peppermint Creams Recipe (9)Â
This was a Christmas recipe from last year so it was no shock that this one only started doing well this year. But I was shocked to see this one do so well. It’s been one of my most viewed posts every month since about September this year, but I had no idea it had done so well in such a short space of time to make the top 10. Â

2. High Protein Vegan Stir Fry Recipe (7)Â
One of my Plant Sourced posts from earlier this year. It’s a lot easier to get your protein on a vegan diet than some people think it is. And this post deliberately says no tofu to show you can do it on a whole foods diet too. I was very shocked to see this one in my top 10 for the year. This one slipped under my radar completely. Â

1. Biscoff Milkshake Recipe (2)Â
This was a recipe a day May 2019 post, so not a new post in 2020. But this started getting a lot of search engine views in the earlier part of 2020 and has done well each month since, so it wasn’t a surprise to see this one take one of the top spots. See, you never know when a post will take off. Â

My 5 Favourite Posts of 2020Â
This list is always going to be a little bit different for a few reasons. The main one is that my list is exclusively posts I published in 2020, not older ones that did well in 2020. And then sometimes I love a recipe simply because I wasn’t sure if it would work, and it turned out really well. Or maybe I really liked the photos, not necessarily because the post itself was a standout. Â
If they don’t have a number in brackets, they were outside of the top 40.Â
5. Roasted Mushroom Pasta RecipeÂ
This one is purely here because I loved the photos so much. Â

4. Gluten Free Vegan Cherry Scones (26)Â
This one is an ‘I can’t believe this actually worked’ mention. I didn’t think I’d get gluten free vegan scones to turn out this well. A very proud recipe a day May moment.Â

3. Three Dessert Oatmeal RecipesÂ
Who doesn’t love the idea of dessert for breakfast? I’m really not a fan of the taste or texture of plain oats, so I had a lot of fun making these recipes and finding a way to actually enjoy oats without baking them. And I know the brownie batter baked oats did better in terms of views, but I think the regular brownie batter oats looked SO much better. Â

2. Nutella Smoothie Bowl Recipe (14)Â
…back to who doesn’t love dessert for breakfast? And I found a way to make something taste like Nutella and it’s still reasonably healthy. Â

1. Sweet Potato Brownies Recipe (19)Â
I made sweet potato brownies for the first time ever and they turned out like this? Need I say more? Â

Were any of your favourites on this list, or were you surprised by any of them? Â
Until next time,Â
SophieÂ
SWEET POTATO BROWNIES! YUM! I haven’t been that active the past few months so it looks like I got a lot of your posts to catch up on Sophie but have to say the Sweet Potato Brownies is something I’ll be looking and trying very soon!
I didn’t realise until now you had a biscoff milkshake recipe and now I am dying to read it and make it!
Over the year I’ve been working hard in cutting out eggs/ meat in diet to become vegan and I’ve enjoyed your recipes so so much! I’ve made so many of them and I’m sure they’ll help me so much through veganuary x
Your posts throughout 2020 were on point whether it was from vegan gf meals to beauty, to everything in between. It is always nice to be one of the firsts to review a newly released product. That way you’re leading the way of the reviews. The peppermint cream looks delicious. I haven’t had York in FOREVER. Totally gave me vibes of it. I always loved sir frying vegetables. Always nice when you don’t need to include tofu! You make the most bomb breakfast and desserts!! I really need to step up my bowls game. Hope 2021 will be great to you!

Happy New Year. I loved reading this post. Its great to look back and see what did well. My favourite is definitely the cherry scones.
Your photographs always look amazing, I’m very jealous! Nice round-up of posts here, and since I’m aiming to have more vegan days this year I suspect I’ll be coming back to a lot of these…
This is such a fun way of doing it for those that have been blogging for a while. I can definitely see how the same posts would show up time after time in a round-up type situation – those that do well usually stick around for years to come! I love seeing which posts a blogger loves the most themselves… It’s a fun way to learn a little more about you and what you like most!
So interesting Sophie, I really don’t spend enough time looking at my own stats and seeing what’s popular. What a great way to highlight everything you have posted last year too! How is it that every recipe you post looks so good! xx

I want to try the nutella smoothie bowl! It’s interesting seeing what your favourites were – it’s nice to look back on the year and the things we are proud of at the end of it! 🙂 We do a lot of things we forget in day to day life, even without 2020 making time seem stranger than usual and making us forgetful, so it’s good to have blogs to look back on and dates to remember things, haha! 🙂
Hope 2021 is off to a good start for you so far 🙂
I’m always surprised when my older posts get a lot of views – often it’s because an adaptation is incoming and because I’ve reviewed the books haha.
That Biscoff milkshake sounds delicious though.

Love the reflection in this post. I haven’t really thought about what my fave posts of the year are. I loved your mushroom pasta post – the pics are amazing & I love mushrooms haha!
I missed the peppermint cremes at the time but they look amazing!
This is such a good post idea! I really enjoy all of your recipes and they give me inspiration to try to make more vegan meals! X
I need to make those oat bowls and the brownies!! I’m always looking for new recipes for breakfast!! X
Oh so good post darling

xx
I need to check out your recipes, all those chocolate goodies sound so good <3

All of the food here is just insanely good — the brownie batter baked oats sound AMAZING! I can see why these are some of your most popular posts!
I really enjoy all of your posts, keep up the amazing blogging! Your top post is also proof that it can take a really long time to know how well a post will actually perform. That can be both hard and reassuring.
Happy New Year! I am not vegan but I do find myself always making a lot of vegetarian and plant-forward meals a few days a week. Thanks for sharing. <3
FASHION TALES
I have really enjoyed reading your posts in 2020 and making a couple of the recipes myself too! It’s always interesting to see how well posts do at the end of the year isn’t it! I remember reading your sweet potato brownie recipe, I haven’t tried it out yet but I am still very much intrigued to try it. xx
