PB&J is a breakfast classic. Granted, it makes me think of toast and not oats, but it’s good to mix things up every now and then. This peanut butter (jelly) jam oatmeal recipe (yes, jam, I’m British) is sweet but deceptively healthy.
The peanut butter provides fat and protein that will help keep you satiated and fuller for longer compared to plain oats as well as making the makes deliciously creamy. I used strawberry jam for mine, but you can use any flavour of your preference. For the milk, I opted for vanilla soy (it’s a borderline addiction at this point) which does make this recipe sweeter still. If that’s too much for you or you like the idea of the added peanut butter but want to keep this relatively healthy, you can sub that for a cup of any other vegan milk. I’d still recommend using milk rather than water as it helps make the powdered peanut butter a little creamier as it mixes in.
Nutritional Information
So that protein I was talking about? This recipe contains 18.4g per serving, without any of the added protein powder, which I think is pretty good for an oatmeal recipe. It contains just under 9g of fat, with less than 1g of saturated fat and 8.4g of fibre, which is a third of the recommended daily amount.
I used Alpro milk, which is fortified, so following the ingredients list exactly as I did will also add calcium, vitamin D and vitamins B12 and B2.

Ooo I’m a big fan of peanut butter and oats, so this sounds really good! Thanks for sharing!
My boyfriend loves having peanut butter and jam on toast, I kind of like the mix but I don’t love it. Maybe it depends on what jam flavour you go for. This sounds interesting though, I’m always up for trying something to make my oats taste interesting!
