I love September. A lot of the summer fruits are still in season (just) but the autumnal apples and pumpkins are in early season too, it feels like the best month in Britain in terms of produce diversity – at least in my eyes. Which means when looking at what’s in season in September, picking an ingredient of the month extremely difficult, for all of the best reasons.

Recipes Currently in Season
Narrowing this list down felt impossible as there are so many ingredients that I absolutely adore in season right now, so this is a very small selection to choose from.
Peaches were my ingredient of the month last month so there’s a good selection of peach recipes to try in the archives.

And don’t forget to browse the autumn recipe archives for more recipe inspiration.
Ingredient of the Month
This month’s ingredient of the month comes to you courtesy of my grandmother because I couldn’t pick one for myself, and that ingredient is the humble potato. A cheap and versatile ingredient that just about everyone loves. And a personal favourite. I think she made a pretty good choice if I do say so myself.
And as potatoes are such a favourite, here are a few potato recipes to keep you going until the recipes start.
Which ingredients in season this month are you looking forward to the most?
Until next time,
Sophie
