Happy New Year everyone! It’s time for one of my favourite posts of the year, my annual year in review post. I’ve done this at the end of every year since I started my blog and find it so interesting to look back, compare and reflect. Me vs You 2023 – my most viewed posts and my favourite posts of the year.
And I’ve managed to avoid looking at my total year stats for months now, so Google Analytics can hopefully give me a few surprises this year.
HOW THIS WORKS
As always, this post will feature three lists: my most viewed posts of the year, the top 5 including no repeat entries from last year with their real ranking shown in brackets, and finally, my favourite posts I’ve published in 2023.
Most Viewed Posts of 2023
- High Protein Vegan Chilli
- Graze Inspired Flapjack Bites
- High Protein Vegan Meals
- Simple Gluten Free Vegan Shortbread
- High Protein Vegan Stir Fry
Can you see a theme here? Note to self: more protein focused recipes in 2024. Many of these were near the top last year (three made the top five last year), so there aren’t any huge surprises here other than perhaps the shortbread.
The Top 5 Posts of 2023 with No Repeats
5. Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Concealer Review (10 in real rankings)

4. Mint Greens Recipe (8 in real rankings)

3. Vegan Fondant Potatoes (6 in real rankings)

2. Simple Gluten Free Shortbread (4 in real rankings)

1. High Protein Vegan Chilli (1 in real rankings, 6 in 2022)

The chilli obviously was not a shock here after seeing it at the top of the real rankings, and the mint greens were no surprise either as I see them crop up a lot when I check my daily/ weekly stats, but I’m beyond surprised to see the Too Faced Concealer make a re-entry to the point I just had to look up when that was released/ initially posted. FYI, I know that’s a popular product, but if anyone’s wondering, I don’t like it.
My Five Favourite Recipes of 2023
Drumroll please, this year we have zero repeats. It has clearly not been a year of loving high protein health for me. Although two of these have been posted in the last 6 weeks or so, so maybe we’ll see them higher in the rankings when it’s time for the 2024 wrap up.
Overall, I think my top picks this year are pretty balanced with a good range of stodge, sweetness and health. And yes, the sprouts soup truly was a highlight. Don’t judge.
Chocolate orange cheesecake

Those little Buttermilk segments are perfect. And I’m a cheesecake girl. This one is indulgent with a Rhythm 108 base, but this was my pick for my Christmas Day dessert this year and went down very well with the dairy eating members of my family too.
Maple Sprouts Soup

Childhood me would never in a million years think I’d be sitting here one day saying one of the best things I’ve made this year was a sprouts soup. But truly, I think I’ll be eating this regularly for quite a while. I’ve only made this twice so far with it being a fairly recent post, but that will increase rapidly over winter.
Protein Grain Salad

This was made for the first time in 2022, so I almost forgot that it was a 2023 post, but this has easily been my most remade recipe of the year. I love the tahini lime dressing, and it’s a good nourishing option full of carbs and protein with some healthy fats in the dressing, perfect as a main or side.
Vegan Butter Chickpeas

This is basically the only curry I make now. It’s slightly less enjoyable now that my favourite GF naan has been seemingly discontinued (thanks, Sainsbury’s), but still my go-to, nonetheless.
Fluffy Lemon Pancakes

I will find an excuse to make pancakes for literally any situation, and these lemon ones hit the spot perfectly. I prefer a thicker pancake than a lemon sugar crepe, but this one was the perfect combination of a fluffy ‘American’ stack with those classic flavours.
Honorary Mention: Peanut Butter Easter Egg Cheesecake – it felt wrong to put two cheesecakes in my top 5, but this little delight was also a highlight.
Are you shocked by anything on this list, or is there anything you’re dying to try?
Until next time,
Sophie
