I was flicking through my archives and realised that it’s been over a year since I did a I reviewed it, do I still use it post. That needed fixing ASAP, so here we are. Obviously, it’s been a while, so this is going to be a long one. As it’s been so long, I haven’t been able to include everything, but I’ve covered my favourites and least favourites, as well as the ones that got the most engagement at the time. If you’ve been wanting an update on anything hopefully it’s covered here.
I reviewed it, do I still use it?
Laura Mercier Flawless Lumiere Foundation
My first review post of 2019 and I still love this foundation a lot. The shade range isn’t fantastic, but it’s not the worst either. I love how this looks on the skin. Coverage is buildable but can be sheered out. It looks like skin, but really great healthy looking skin. I don’t think my opinion of this one has changed much since my initial review, which you can find here. If the shade range was better and I had a true match, I would happily use this foundation every single day.

Revolution Pro Powder Foundation
I hate this. And I’m kind of tempted to leave it at that. It’s dusty, it’s heavy, it just doesn’t look good. I still have this and try to use it occasionally, but I definitely don’t use it or reach for it often. I wasn’t keen on this when I first tried it, so this may not come as a shock.

Derma Rollers
I’m guilty of not using this as regularly as I should, but I still love this. They definitely work, and my makeup sits on my skin beautifully after I’ve used one of these. I’d highly, highly recommend.

MUFE Water Blend Foundation
Hi, meet my favourite foundation. This is everything I love in a foundation, the coverage is light and fresh. It makes my skin look really healthy and it’s nicely hydrating on my dry skin. The shade range for this one could be better as well, but it’s still pretty good. This was probably my favourite beauty discovery of 2019, high praise…
Full review here.

Drunk Elephant Cleansing Balm
Big fan. As far as premium brand cleansing balm goes, this is on the more affordable side for sure. Do I love it as much as the Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm? No. But, it’s half the price for double the amount of product. Do I love the Omorovicza twice as much as this one? Absolutely not. I’m still on my first tub of this one but I will absolutely repurchase when the time comes.

Fenty Hydrating Foundation
I have mixed feelings about this one. When I wrote my initial review I tried to be objective about the product and not let the shade range sway me, and I think this opinion still stands. It’s not a bad foundation and I still use it, however, I have a lot better. If I had a more medium skint one that is easily matched, I would probably wear this a lot less than I do. So, yes, I do still use it, but not because I love it.

Revolution Conceal & Hydrate
A firm no. I was really excited to try this as the hype was so huge for the original Conceal & Define, but this isn’t dry skin friendly at all. I use this as an eye primer every now and then just to try and use it up, but I never reach for this as an actual concealer. If you have dry skin, save your money. My initial review was more on the negative side, and it didn’t get any better from there.

Zoeva Dupes
I was so surprised that there were some real gems in this set. When I bought them, I fully thought that I’d end up using them for that blog post then probably never reach for them again. Now, some of them aren’t great but I’d say that I use at least 5 of them regularly alongside my Zoeva versions and I use the concealer brush daily. Some of the not so great ones really aren’t so great, but the good ones are nearly as good the Zoeva ones. I’m very glad I decided to test these out, I was very pleasantly surprised.

Do you remember any of these posts or have I mentioned any products you love/ hate here? Or do you disagree with me on about any of these products?
Until next time,
Sophie
I love the DE cleansing balm it lasts forever! I was really tempted to try the Revolution foundation and concealer but with my dry skin when I swatched it didn’t feel comfortable (I walked around with swatches on my cheek thankfully on a quiet morning!) fab post it’s always good to see how you find products after some time!

Ohh i love this sort of review! As months, years go by, sometimes we change our perspective about something and it’s nice to share our updated thoughts about the products. 🙂 I’d like to try that Make Up Forever foundation!

I think this is such an amazing concept for a blog post! I have tried a couple of these products, I really love the Fenty Foundation and found I really disliked most Revolution products which sucks cause they’re so cheap.

Hey Bash
This is such a good post idea! Love it. I totally need to try Drunk Elephant, seems like such a good brand to buy from, with great products!

Oh i love the idea of this post. I may try out the makeup forever foundation as I’ll always take suggestions from people if it’s their favourite foundation! Thanks for sharing x
I don’t often wear makeup – so most of these are new to me products. But, I love that you revisit the topic on whether or not you still use them!

What an interesting take to a throwback post! Love Make Up For Ever and Fenty, so happy to see them in this!
I remember these and I still haven’t used any of these product companies really. I’ve only used the eyeshadows of Revolution and they’re not too bad. Will have to give other stuff a try when I can. x
I love that you’ve wrote this because it’s really easy to review something and then not come back to it. I really love the sound of the derma rollers so I might have to check it out x
The bottle to this foundation is absolutely stunning! I love a good old frosted glass bottle for a product such as this one. 🙂 I also love the idea of this series on your blog, I can’t wait to read more in the future. xx
Such a great blog post!

Great info on some products I’ve been eyeing! Especially the Fenty beauty products.
This is such a good idea for a blog post! I really want to try a skin roller!
Great idea for a blog post! I haven’t tried any of these products – very tempted by the Zoeva dupes!

I love reading posts like this; just because one shares thoughts about a product does not necessarily mean it fits with you. Seeing a healthy mix of love and not love items was refreshing.
Great post! I’m curious about the DE balm as I’ve never tried it! How does it compare to more budget versions e.g. Body Shop one?
Thank you! The Body Shop one used to break me out and I don’t have acne prone skin at all so that one was fairly disappointing for me. This one doesn’t leave any of that kind of residue that I find a lot of the cheaper ones too but still leaves my skin feeling clean but not stripped x
I like Fenty products 🙂
This is such a great idea for a blog post! I am for sure guilty of raving about products, and then letting them fall off the wagon. The makeup industry creates too many products to keep up with!

This is such a good idea for a post! Reading this has definitely made me realise that I’ve reviewed loads of different skincare/beauty products and now I rarely use most of them xx

I still really want to try a derma roller! My skin is just off the charts terrible right now so I’m eager to find something that works! I’ve heard great things about Drunk Elephant products too x
I want to try that Laura Mercier foundation x
Loving your comments on the foundations! Much like you I have such a problem with my sensitive skin it breaks out when I wear a lot of foundations and I love the look of the Makeup forever one!!
Thank you so much for this blogpost!
