Hey everyone, today we’re talking about a product you all know and I’m pretty sure you all love. I’ve spoken about Clinique Moisture Surge a few times now and every single time I mention it, the same thing happens. My comments are full of people saying they love it or it’s their favourite moisturiser. It’s one of mine too. In fact, it’s probably the single most repurchased skincare item I own.
When I first discovered it, I instantly fell in love. So much so, that I wanted to try the full line; that’s exactly what I did. Today I’m going to be doing a mini review of every product in the Moisture Surge line. The only exceptions will be the CC and tinted moisturiser. I’d love to try these products, but I find Clinique in general are not great at shades for fair skin. I can’t get a colour match remotely close for either of these products, so I can’t vouch for either of them.
Let’s start at the beginning with the original Moisture Surge.
Firstly, this is the product we all know and love. It’s been reformulated. The new version apparently offers 72 hours of hydration, even shower and sweat proof. It can be bought from Clinique online now and some Clinique counters. This is not an ad (I wish), I just got chatting to the woman who works at my local counter.

This product is a thick gel texture which feels very lightweight on the skin. It’s oil free but packed with hyaluronic acid so it’s great at hydrating rather than moisturising. My skin always feels soft and plump after using this product. It also contains caffeine and aloe so it’s great at giving the skin a boost and soothing at the same time. I just told you it’s my most repurchased item, so I obviously love it. The jar packaging is a bit of a let-down, but other than that I don’t think I can fault this product at all. Clinique say this is for all skin types, which I agree with.
Moisture Surge Intense Hydrator

This is regular Moisture Surge for dry skin. I only have a mini version of this because it’s not my favourite. To me I think this is the least impressive product in the range. Despite being for dry skin, which I have, I find this product doesn’t perform any better than the original. This one is more like a typical moisturiser; it’s a thicker cream in a jar rather than a gel.

Overnight Mask

I promise my hands aren’t actually blue…
I love this stuff. It’s oil free like the rest of the range but has shea and mango seed butter in it so it feels rich and nourishing. In my opinion, this is the best the range offers for dry skin, better than the intense. They call it an overnight mask because of it’s thicker texture but there’s no reason not to use this during the day. Clinique claim this is for all skin types, but I wouldn’t recommend it for those of you who are more oily or acne prone.

Mist

I’ve mentioned this in a couple of posts recently. This is phenomenal for freshening up on the go, under or over makeup. And it’s way more than just a mist, this is a great moisturiser in its own right. As I’ve spoken about this recently, I’ll leave a link here rather than talking about it twice.
Hydrating Concentrate

This is their version of a serum essentially. I’ve only got the mini as I have 5,000,000 hydrating serums and really couldn’t justify yet another. The texture is incredibly light, instantly soothes and absorbs in seconds. For the price point it’s incredible. It’s less tacky than most of the other hydrating serums I own/ use, including Sarah Chapman and Hydraluron. This is also oil free and contains aloe and caffeine like most of the other items in the range. Clinique also claim this is for all skin types which I would agree with although I think this is great pick for oily skin types.

Overall
I love this entire range, so I can’t choose favourites. However, the original is great for everyone with dehydrated skin, whether they are oily or dry. The overnight mask is a must for dry skin girls. I highly recommend the serum for oily girls out there (or guys). I’d skip the intense and the mist is great if you’re in the market for a new one.
Do you use Moisture Surge? And will you be trying the new one? I have a few samples, so I’ll report back with an update on that one very soon.
Until tomorrow,
Sophie

I should really try this range as it sounds fantastic. Great review.
I love the Moisture Surge range! Even though I have oily to combination skin, it has worked wonders on my face before. So hydrating and kept my skin supple and smooth… definitely helped keep wrinkles at bay. This post made me want to incorporate it into my skincare routine again! Rebecca-Marie xxx
I love clinique products, my mum has always sworn by them. I’ve never tried any of these but the overnight mask is definitely something I would use!
I’m like the others above hehe, I’ve not actually tried Clinque skincare before! This post has definetly given me some ideas for when i need to try new products though 😀
I love the sound of the mist. I often get a bit hot and flustered on the go which then in turn doesn’t do wonders for my make up haha so this would be handy to keep in my bag! xxx
Love this post, I’ve never tried anything by Clinique but these all sound great. I love the sound of the mist and have been eyeing up a few products similar. Great post xx
Lovely post! Never tried Clinique, might look into it some more! Thanks for sharing x

I wish Clinique products were more affordable in India. Unfortunately due to the heavy duties and taxes they end up quite expensive. I think I will try to pick some up when I am traveling abroad next time.
I have never tried any of these products, probably because I have combination skin, but that serum would be good for winter when my face gets drier! x
I’ve been looking for a new overnight cream/mask so I definitely want to try the Clinique one now! Great post.
I actually cannot wait to get my hands on the new 72 hour thirst relief! The original is so good so I have the highest expectations haha
This sounds divine! As I have dry skin, I think I may invest in this; I love your photos.
Great post I really need to get more moisturiser. Thanks for sharing x
I am actually obsessed with this moisturiser. No matter how many other brands I try I always come back to Moisture Surge! I glow and am super hydrated in a way like no other when I’m using it. Love the face spray too but wasn’t toooo impressed by the eye roller.
And I have super dry skin, so it really does work!
Everyone is loving Clinique! I have heard so many good things about the brand! Never tried that moisturiser. I need a new cream anyway as winter has damaged my skin! xx corinne
I’ve heard a ton about this moisturizer, but never actually tried it. I love the idea of feeling something lightweight but gel-like on my skin rather than a cream or something… it really appeals to me! I tend to have dry skin so it really does sound great!
I had a mini version of the original Moisture Surge last year and I loved it! I have oily skin but because it’s a gel texture it worked so well for me. It’s so interesting to see what the other products from this line are like, I might have to give the face spray a go! Xx
I love this review! As someone with oily skin I’ve always been put off using products like this as I feel they’re always aimed at dry skin – I definitely have to try the hydrating mist xx
I’ve never tried any of these! This is actually super handy as I was looking to invest in some new skincare. I really like the sound of the oil!

I feel like an amateur now as I’ve never even heard of any of these, let alone tried them! I can’t say I know a lot about more high-end skincare other than the odd Kiehls product but they do sound super hydrating and nourishing which I’m always looking for in facial products!

Hi Sophie!
What a lovely assortment of products from the Moisture Surge line.
I the original moisturiser looks like a good option for most people and it is what I would go for.
The overnight mask is also something I have been eager to try for a while. I think it would be too heavy for me in the summer but just right for this time of year. Great tip about being able to use it during the day too as I had never considered that!

Never used Clinique and it looks great, but I’m using Neutriherbs now and it works really well, I’ll try it in the future
Great recommendation. Moisturizing is very important in daily skin care. I have been using Neutriherbs moisturizer. The natural formula and materials are very friendly to the skin. It also has a good moisturizing effect and moisturizes our skin. It is my favorite The best moisturizer I’ve ever used, I’m sure you’ll love it too
