I love this cookie dough snowman recipe because it offers something for everyone. The dough is extremely simple to make but you can make the decoration process as simple as you want or take a perfectionist approach and make every detail as intricate as possible, making this recipe fun for every skill level.
When I was making this, I was thinking that one could be fun to make with kids. Or possibly make the dough in advance and let kids each decorate their own for a children’s Christmas party/ group activity idea. So, I went for the fun and easy approach when it came to decorate them. But I’ll include some tips down below if you want to make your snowmen look immaculate.
If you want to make them perfect the easier way, you can get snowman decorating kits with things like fondant hats and scarves to make them as detailed as possible.

Ingredient Choices and Substitutions
There isn’t a lot in this recipe that can be substituted. You can make this recipe nut free by opting to use a seed butter or something like WOW Butter in place of the nut butter in this recipe.
How to store and does it keep?
You can eat these from frozen, in which case they can keep in the freezer for up to one month in a freezer friendly container or food bag. Alternatively, you can keep them in a container in the fridge and eat them from chilled instead. Chilled cookie dough snowmen will last for up to a week.

Cookie Dough Snowman Recipe
Ingredients
- ¼ cup vegan butter
- ¼ cup nut butter I used almond
- ½ cup golden caster sugar
- 1 tsp orange extract
- 1 tbsp vegan milk of choice preferably something sweetened
- 1 cup oat flour
- 75 g vegan white chocolate chips
Extra decoration
- 10 g vegan white chocolate
- Orange food colouring
- 10 g vegan dark chocolate
Instructions
-
Mix your butters and sugar in a food processor until thoroughly combined and smooth. Add in the milk, orange extract (if using) and continue to mix. Slowly add in the flour, bit by bit, until combined and smooth.
-
Roll into balls to freeze as cookie dough chunks. Press two of the cookie dough balls together, being careful not to squash them, and they should freeze as a whole snowman Leave in the freezer for at least 30 minutes before eating, if using the frozen option. Melt your vegan chocolate. Roll your frozen chunks in the melted chocolate then return to the freezer for another 60 minutes to set.
-
Once fully set, melt your dark chocolate and use this to decorate your snowman’s eyes and buttons. You can do this either by dipping a fork in your melted chocolate and using that to place the dots on your snowman. Or for more precision, you can use a toothpick or a needle/ pin. Now melt your white chocolate. Add a few drops of orange food colouring and use a fork to combine them. As the chocolate starts to thicken ever so slightly, take a small amount of chocolate on a fork and place it where you want your snowman’s nose to be. Swirl your fork upwards as you pull it away to create the carrot shape. The snowmen should be cold enough from the freezer that these decorative details set instantly.
Serve and enjoy!
Until tomorrow,
Sophie
