I posted a Nutella milkshake recipe back in February and that lead to the post you’re reading here. That one was so rich, I knew that much chocolate wouldn’t be for everyone. So, I decided to try and make another milkshake inspired by some sort of fruity dessert. And in the process, I managed to turn a few fairly healthy ingredients into something that should come with a health warning. This cherry Bakewell milkshake recipe is insanely sweet, borderline sicky, and in turn, absolutely everything I want from a milkshake recipe.

Fairly healthy Ingredients?
Yes, before I get started on the milkshake recipe. As much as this recipe is far from a health food, between the Nakd bar and the frozen fruit, it does actually contain two of your 5-a-day. I want to be very clear, far from a health food. But it’s somewhat comforting to know your sickly sweet glass of sugar does actually contain something good for you.

Cherry Bakewell Flavour/ Ingredients
I mentioned in my Nutella milkshake post that I like milkshakes that go all out. A little bit of ice cream, milk and cocoa powder doesn’t quite hit the spot for me. As much as I’d have loved to make this recipe as authentic as possible and make it with some GF and vegan Cherry Bakewells blended with the dairy alternatives, I couldn’t find any. And I wasn’t about to make them from scratch to blend them up 5 minutes later. So, how else can I get that cherry Bakewell flavour? A small, sweet Bakewell tart flavoured snack, some frozen cherries and a small chunk of marzipan.

Nutritional Information
Once again, not a health food. But this recipe contains 12g of protein and 4g of fibre. It also contains 30% of the recommended amount of calcium and a third of your daily B2. If you opt for fortified dairy alternatives, it will also provide somewhere between 10-15% of the RDA of both vitamin D and B12.

I do like the sound of a cherry bakewell shake, I love cherries also I just don’t get them too often because of the price. My favorite types of shakes are coffee-based lol.

What a cute little recipe – I’ll definitely need to try this in the future! I love the fact that it’s vegan, too.
Oh my word, this looks DIVINE! I love that you upped the cherry flavor and added a little extra boost with the creative use of the Bakewell bar. With marzipan for that delicious almond hint I love, I cannot think of anything I would change in this recipe.
I look forward to giving this a whirl (pun intended) on the next blistering day I get.
Thanks for sharing!
We all need something sweet once in a while… or very frequently some weeks, and your lovely milkshake recipe is just the way to extravagantly indulge. It looks so good!!
I love milk shakes. I usually have them at least once a week. I do love getting to make my own home made milkshakes. Totally have to try out this recipe.
This looks so yummy. I would have to make it dairy free. All your recipes look great. Thank you for sharing.
