Welcome to post one of Wimbledon fortnight. You may recall that I said a few weeks ago that I’m making 6 strawberries and cream recipes to celebrate my favourite fortnight of the year. Last year, I made Wimbledon inspired cupcakes and I got this idea back then. Today’s post is for my strawberries and cream smoothie bowl recipe. I’m fairly certain this will be the healthiest recipe of the fortnight and I know that the 6th post is definitely the least healthy. So, it’s downhill from here basically. Enjoy!
Choosing Ingredients
When I first started making this, I knew that I wanted it to be creamy in all ways, texture and taste. And I tried just about every strawberry combination possible. I bought strawberry protein, strawberry soy milk…dabbled with the idea of strawberry yoghurt. Then realised that as long as you have a good mix of strawberry and vanilla, it doesn’t matter too much. And can you imagine how disappointed I was to discover that strawberry protein powder is not pink?! Heart breaking.
In the end, I went for frozen strawberries and fresh avocado to make it creamy, so you should end up with something that looks like strawberry soft serve ice cream by the time you’ve finished blending. As I’ve mentioned 1000 times before, I hate avocado, I promise you cannot taste the avocado in this. However, if you really didn’t want to use as much, I’d recommend using ¼ of an avocado instead of ½ and adding 2 tablespoons of Greek style yoghurt instead (I’d opt for Alpro Go On).

Strawberries & Cream Smoothie Bowl Recipe
This recipe is gluten free, dairy free, vegan and nut free. It can be soy free depending on your choice of non-dairy milk and protein (if using).

Strawberries & Cream Smoothie Bowl Recipe
Celebrating Wimbledon this year with a series of 6 summer strawberries and cream recipes. We're starting with this deliciously creamy strawberries and cream smoothie bowl.
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- ½ an avocado
- ½ scoop of vanilla or strawberry protein powder
- Up to a cup of vanilla soy milk I preferred that to the strawberry
Toppings of choice
Instructions
-
Add the frozen strawberries, protein and avocado to a blender with ½ cup of the non-dairy milk and blend.
-
Continue to add a little more milk until you reach your desired consistency. How ripe the avocados are and your freezer temperature will mean this varies slightly smoothie to smoothie, but I ended up using about ¾ of a cup.
-
Transfer smoothie mixture into a bowl then smooth the surface and add your desired toppings.
Serve and enjoy!
Do you guys like the sound of this? What would your strawberry to vanilla ratio be? Also, I’m really sorry if any of you don’t like strawberries, come back in two weeks…
Until next time,
Sophie

Yum! I’ve been thinking about making smoothies again as they are so perfect for the summer. I would have never thought of adding avocado to the mix, but that makes sense and would make it really creamy. I like avocado and strawberries so this recipe is a win for me! Thanks for the inspiration, Sophie! <3 xx

This looks divine! I love strawberries!
This honestly sounds SO dreamy, especially with the recent warm weather we’ve been having. I haven’t had yoghurt in a REALLY long time as it was one of the only foods I could eat for like a year before my surgery so I got so sick of it (as well as soup). I really want to get back into it though as it’s so refreshing and yum. Peach/apricot is definitely one of my absolute favourite flavours! This is definitely something I’d make, I love strawberry and vanilla equally though so I’d probably have the ratio pretty even!

Oh my god, this looks like such an easy and delicious thing to make in the summer. And as an avocado lover I’m giving it a go (Even if it doesn’t taste of avocadoes). Also what colour is strawberry protein powder if not pink?!

Thank you! As an avocado hater, it really was a nice touch in this one . The protein was an off white/ beige colour, basically looked the same as vanilla. So disappointing…x
I would have never guessed that avocado is in the recipe. Strawberries are one of my favorites and boy does this strawberries & cream smoothie bowl really looks delicious.
What is Wimbledon without strawberries eh? This looks so yummy and I’m an avocado lover (sorry!) so double points from me.
This looks delicious! I am also surprised how you can use an avocado in a smoothie bowl! Does it not taste too ‘avocadoey’? I also love how you focus on healthy nutrition in your food creations, I think it’s fantastic.

Hi! Thank you so much. The avocado gives a nice creamy texture. No! You can’t taste the avocado at all as long as the other ingredients have enough sweetness, so the strawberries, protein and a sweetened milk balance it out. x
This sounds so yummy! Will definitely be making this. Keep writing x
I love the idea of Wimbledon inspired recipes! This looks so good and I love the idea of using frozen berries- I’m definitely going to be trying this as a healthier option for ice cream to cool me down this summer!

This looks amazing! Especially on a hot day, Definitely going to make this.
This looks heavenly! What color is strawberry protein powder if not pink?! Haha that is really strange! I’ve been looking for more ways to incorporate protein powder into my diet other than my standard smoothies, so this is great!
Looks amazing! I’m definitely going to make this:)
OOh this looks good, I haven’t tried a smoothie bowl before but with this heat killing my appetite this would be perfect <3
The Quirky Queer
This looks amazing! Do you use frozen avocado or just frozen strawberries? Definitely going to be giving this a go for a post workout treat sometime soon!
I used fresh avocado. Fresh avocado with the frozen strawberries gives the nicest texture but I’m sure it would still be great with frozen avocado if you wanted to try that. Let me know what you think! Thanks for reading x
I adore strawberries and cream, so this just sounds like a dream! Especially with all the hot weather lately!! Also I’d have never thought to add protein powder so need to give that a try
This looks amazing! I love your recipe layout and the vitamin information 🙂
I’m just not big on fruits in general for some reason, but smoothies are about the only way I eat them. I would probably have a bigger strawberry ratio only because I use plain unsweetened soy milk only, I’m basic like that, and while vanilla is the only protein powder I use, I am still not a big fan of it lol. I only use it because it’s good for me haha.
I love how pretty smoothie bowls look – they’re the perfect Instagram snack! ha x
This looks absolutely delicious – definitely my kinda recipe!
I need to start making smoothie bowls x
omg this looks delicious! So refreshing on these warmer days xx

I would have never thought about adding Avocado to this, that’s pretty interesting! I’m a big fan of strawberries so I imagine they’d be no doubt that I’d enjoy this. Very opt for this time of the year, thanks for sharing!
