Hello everyone, I’ve done a what a food blogger eats in a week before and thought it was a perfect time for another food blogger food diary. I shoot all of my recipes in natural light, so when the nights draw in and daylight hours shrink, my eating patterns are…ridiculous. Curry for breakfast? Granola for dinner? Three different cakes in a two hour window then nothing else for the rest of the day? All possible in winter. I know it isn’t winter yet, but we are at the point where I can no longer shoot dinner recipes at dinnertime, so my food structure is starting to slide even though summer weather is still very much here. Â
We’re starting this week on a Friday. I know that’s a random day to start, but I get my big food shop on a Thursday, so it makes more sense to start these posts towards the end of the week when the fridge is full and I have a better idea what my meal plan for the week is. Â
What I eat in a week – Food Blogger Food Diary
Before we start, I know that there’s 0% chance that I’ll remember to include my drinks, so I just want to add a little disclaimer that I drink from a half gallon water bottle throughout the day. I aim for two full bottles, but that rarely happens. I always drink at least one, but usually end up somewhere around one and a half, so roughly three litres a day. And each day includes a few cups of plain black coffee which I also won’t remember. If I make anything more interesting like a smoothie or hot chocolate etc, that will be listed. Â
Oh and I apologise for the poor lighting for the evening meals…Â
Friday Â
Breakfast – Lentil PastaÂ
Remember when I had that bald patch in my eyelashes and started a hair growth diet that involved lentil pasta for breakfast about 5 days a week? Well, old habits die hard. I still do this every now and then, sometimes it’s just an easy way to get more protein if I know I don’t have a high protein meal planned for the day. Sometimes I don’t want anything sweet. And sometimes it is actually for my hair. Today, it’s nothing deeper than not wanting anything sweet. Â

Snack – Nakd Bar (Almond Macaroon)Â
Nakd bars have been a staple snack pretty much since the day I went vegan but this flavour is new. It’s insanely sweet, but amazing. Â
Dinner – Gluten Free FajitasÂ
Corn tortillas, refried black beans, mushrooms, peppers and onions in a smokey barbecue seasoning with hot salsa. A fairly basic GF vegan fajita setup. Â
Saturday Â
Breakfast – Cherry Vanilla Smoothie BowlÂ
Snacks – Alpro Greek Style Yoghurt, strawberries + a handful of tortilla chips. Â
Dinner – My go-to saladÂ
Probably the meal I’ve consumed the most in my life, maybe 2nd to lentil pasta. Â
Sunday Â
Breakfast – Okay, I really wasn’t feeling food this morning. I had no appetite, nothing sounded appealing, I had half a protein bar before I went for my Sunday walk. Â
Lunch – 3 miles walked; small portion of chips consumed. Yes, this was a ‘small’. Â
Dinner – Lentil & Greens Protein Bowl.
This is one of my favourite healthy quick dishes, crispy roasted edamame, tenderstem broccoli and puy lentils. Usually, I’d add some toasted seeds too but I used the last of mine in my salad last night. Â
Monday Â
Breakfast – Recipe Prep! Mocha Pancakes. Â
My recipe prep breakfast this morning is actually a breakfast, which is a huge win. If all has gone to plan, this recipe should be up before you see this so I’ll leave a recipe snippet below. Â

Snack – A very boring slice of extremely bland and overpriced GF bread. Â
Cotton candy grapes. Â
Dinner – Chilli Maple Root Vegetable Soup. Â
This was supposed to be a traditional herb autumnal root vegetable soup, but some of the veg I was going to include went off unusually quickly this week, so this was an improv meal with what I could salvage. Â
TuesdayÂ
Today is interesting. I’m going to a national trust site with some of my family. We’re leaving at about 9:15am. Anyone who has seen any kind of food diary of mine before knows that breakfast is somewhere between 10:30-11:30am for me. I knew the chance of them having something I could eat would be slim, so I packed some bits for the car. Â
Breakfast – Okay, so, someone else was having a full cooked breakfast and I wasn’t missing out on my hash brown bites despite not being fully ready to eat. Slight change of plan, but mini breakfast- hash brown bites. Â
Snacks – A Pulsin bar and cotton candy grapes at about 11am (regular breakfast time). I snacked on a bag of dried mango throughout the day and had some smoked almonds at ‘lunchtime’.Â
Dinner – A classic bowl of lentil pasta. Â
WednesdayÂ
My period is due tomorrow, I was feeling sick and ate breakfast foods all day. It wasn’t the plan, I was supposed to be having some chickpea nuggets tonight, but I couldn’t stomach a proper meal and ate yet another breakfast. No judgement, please. Â
Breakfast – Cherry smoothie bowl Â
Snack – Toast Â
Dinner – Yoghurt & granola with berries (I promise the berries are in there, somewhere)Â
ThursdayÂ
Now, this is by far the weirdest day of the week. I’m recipe prepping today, and my food delivery is today. Â
I usually wait until after my food delivery has been before I have breakfast, but today I was starting recipe prep straight away, so breakfast would be even later than usual. Â
Pre-breakfast? I snacked on a bag of protein crisps while putting my shopping away. Â
Breakfast – Right. So, what I didn’t mention is that I was starting to prep my Christmas recipes. Breakfast is a mint chocolate milkshake. I made some mint choc chip ice cream for one recipe, then added it to a milkshake for recipe two of the day, which became my breakfast. Â
Dinner – Some smoky chilli refried beans, a large side salad and a couple of vegetable nuggets. Â
Food Diary Recap
I’m actually pretty glad I chose to do this post this week because it ended up being a bad week (for me) in terms of overall food consumption. There are some really good, healthy meals in there. And a solid few days of PMS, and not so great food choices to go with it, and some random meals for the sake of recipe development. For those reasons, it wasn’t necessarily an ‘average’ week, but I think ‘I don’t feel great so I had granola for dinner’ is probably a lot more relatable than ‘here’s my fourth salad of the week’.Â
Until next time,
Sophie

Looks delicious! Have a lovely week Cris

I find it really interesting getting to know what people eat, I love watching those videos on YouTube to get some ideas so it’s lovely to see it in post form. Your Saturday breakfast sounds and looks delicious, those smoothie bowls are super yummy. I’m now in the mood for fajitas, one of my favourite meals.
I can’t believe this is a bad food week for you! I wish I ate this well hahaha xx

this was so fun to follow along with! it reminds me that i need to get wayyy more protein-based snacks. i usually just opt for nuts or fruit, but i’m working on my protein intake and that’s a must x
Some of these look really yummy! Especially the pancakes! I think we all have weeks where we don’t eat as thought out as we usually would – but variety is always good! 🙂
Hope you had a great weekend 🙂 We managed to enjoy some time outdoors despite the colder than usual spring weather!
Those mocha pancakes look absolutely delish!
