In the spirit of Veganuary, I thought I’d share my recent cruelty free beauty haul. Okay, this is my Colourpop order – but they’re a CF company, and a brilliant one at that, so I wanted to share. I’ll label each product with whether they’re just CF or vegan friendly too to hopefully make it a little easier.
International Ordering & Shipping
As I’m sure most of you know, Colourpop is an online only company based in California. They’re known for being very affordable, and they offer free international shipping on orders over $50. For reference, most items are under $10, so you get a lot for your money. This order took a little longer than usual, but I ordered early December, so that’s to be expected. I ordered December 11th, shipped the 18th, and it arrived Christmas Eve.
I spent a total of $58.50, had a $5 discount code – they apply taxes on your order so there are no nasty customs charges when it enters the UK. Taxes were $10.69, making my final order total $64.19. A note for fellow UK shoppers, I checked out with PayPal and it gave me the option to pay in GBP or USD. The GBP option was £50, I know the dollar rate is terrible right now, but that still sounded expensive so I took a chance and paid in dollars. My order ended up being processed at £47, something to consider before you place an order.

My Haul
Pretty Fresh Hydrating Concealer
Shade 05 ($9, CF)

I’m going to start with the product that started it all. As I mentioned in my all time favourite beauty products post, my favourite concealer is being/ has been discontinued and I’m on the hunt to replace it. Needing something hydrating and pale enough for me proved to be a challenge, then Colourpop launched their Pretty Fresh line. As a fan of their No Filter concealer (the palest shade I own may I add), I wanted to try this one as No Filter is too matte for the colder months. The shade range for this concealer isn’t as wide as the No Filter line, I have shade 05 (02 in NF) which is about the colour of my skin, but I wouldn’t say pale enough to highlight with.
I’m going to do a full review on this soon so I’m not going to say too much here, but I haven’t used another concealer since this one arrived.
Flutter By Palette
($18, CF)
I’ve heard amazing things about the Colourpop shadow formula and couldn’t decide whether to buy a palette or build my own. In the end, I opted to buy their Flutter By palette with the intention of building my own in my next Colourpop order if I liked the formula. Let’s just say that I’ve already started planning my shades for my BYOP…
They describe this palette as a cool toned soft glam palette, which I’d agree with. As someone who likes cool toned neutrals (meaning I like cooler taupes, browns and mauves but don’t like harsh greys), this palette is pretty much perfect. There are enough mattes, a couple of shimmers and some nice pressed pigment glitters. All with great pigmentation and they apply smoothly and blend out well. My only complaint is that one or two shades that looked matte in their swatches actually have fine shimmer in, including the deep brown shade which I would have preferred to be a matte.
Blush Stix
Shades Aloha & 25/8 ($8, Vegan)
I’ve mentioned a few times that I opt for cream blush more and more because it sits better on my dry skin. As I’ve also mentioned before, my current favourite blush is actually a lipstick, so I thought I should probably try to find a product actually meant for my cheeks.
If I’m honest, I don’t like cream blush formulas in compacts very much (hence why I used a lipstick…), so I knew I wanted to try their blush stix. I got two shades in the end:
25/8 – a warm nude
Aloha – a rosey terracotta. Putting it out there, I consider this more of a peachy pink than a terracotta, but it does show up a similar shade to its online swatch (which also does not look like a terracotta)
I love this formula. It’s light, fresh and glowy; it gives that healthy skin glow without looking too much like makeup. I’ve tried this with dewy foundations and ones with more of a soft matte and this formula never seems to drag/ separate or move the products underneath at all regardless of the finish unlike some cream formulas.
Crème Lux Lipstick
Shade Uno Mas ($7.50, Vegan)

Right, so I honestly bought this to use as a blush. Old habits die hard? But as I bought two shades of the blush stix, I haven’t got around to trying that yet. But I did put it on my lips (y’know, how you’re supposed to use it??), and I hated it. It’s a warm peachy pink, which isn’t a shade I’d usually wear on my lips anyway, but the formula didn’t set well at all. I could really feel the formula on my lips, and it just felt like it was sat there rather than blending into my lips. Hopefully it performs better on my cheeks…
BFF Mascara
Black ($8, Vegan)

And finally, yes, you read that right. Ladies and gents, I bought a mascara. After a tumultuous lash year of vitamins, serums, lentils for breakfast and crushing disappointment in March when my lashes still fell out when I tried to wear mascara again, I decided to try again. At only $8, I thought I didn’t have an awful lot to lose (lashes aside) if this didn’t work out. I haven’t jumped back into daily mascara (risky business…), but in the three weeks or so that I’ve had it, I’ve worn it maybe 13 or 14 times and I’ve lost a grand total of three or four lashes. That’s in total, not a day, that’s so 2018. I’m very happy about this, to say the least.
Have you ever tried anything from Colourpop? What are your favourite products? What are your favourite cruelty free beauty brands?
Until next time,
Sophie
These look fab. I’ll have to give them a look, it’s great that you didn’t get a customs charge as there is nothing worse than that when ordering from overseas, it always puts me off as I pay more for that, than what I ordered. These shades are really great too 🙂 x
I’ve just started wearing make up and use bare minerals which I know is CF and some products are vegan so have been keeping my eye ou for different brands to try. I like the idea of colour pop and like that they apply taxes to your order so don’t get the customs charge – which kills me every time it happens. Think when I feel a bit adventurous and confident in my abilities I will definitely look at colour pop!
I haven’t tried anything from colourpop yet. After reading your post I am intrested. Thanks for sharing your experience.
I love that they recognize that their customer base isn’t just in their own country, offering a deal for international clients too! It shows that they are in touch with their customers which is SO important.
Loved this haul! I love eyeshadow palettes so much and the flutterby palette looks and sounds incredible. Just like you, I tend to go for cooler toned neutrals so this sounds like the perfect choice for me. I’ve tried their liquid lipsticks a while back and they were so good but I never realised how affordable all the other products are too? I’m definitely going to be checking their website out soon! Thanks for sharing x
I have heard of colour pop before from youtubers. I have never ordered anything abroad before. I love the lipstick with the stars so pretty! It’s great it is vegan too! Thank you for sharing Sophie xxx
This all looks great. I just noticed a local store have started selling vegan makeup and I’m gonna check it out next time I’m out makeup shopping.
Thanks for sharing ❤️

Colorpop sounds like an amazing brand, with a very positive name. Even better that it is cruelty free! I love the color of the lipstick.
Thank you for these products. I have sensitive eyes so I can’t do mascara, eyeliner or falsies on a daily!!! I like that they are vegan too. I need to try more natural make up products. ✨
These all look amazing, especially the lipstick which is such a gorgeous shade
I’ve always been a massive fan of colourpop pieces but the import fee to England was just a bit too expensive if you ask me! X

I have never had anything from color pop yet, but getting more into cruelty free and vegan makeup, I will try them out!
Thank you for the suggestions and haul! 🙂

Oh my gosh, I’m so proud of you getting back out there and trying mascaras again haha! I’ve been following your journey with your lashes so this feels like a big step forward, congratulations. I’m a bit sad the lipstick wasn’t your favourite though as it looks very pretty. Hopefully, it’s going to work better as a blush! I also love the look of that palette so much, it’s definitely my vibe colour-wise. I actually didn’t realise Colourpop were CF, AND I didn’t realise they charged taxes to avoid a customs fee! That’s kind of genius. Don’t be surprised if I’m on their website tonight haha…

Ah this is an amazing haul – I love ColourPop so much and own way too much from the brand lol. That being said, I’ve actually never tried anything you picked up except for the BFF mascara.
The Flutter By Palette looks gorgeous, and I love the lux lipstick and blush stix formulas. I’m happy to hear that the BFF mascara is working well for you though!!
I have always wanted to try Colourpop makeup! I think I will give it a try especially for the gorgeous lipsticks! A great haul lovely!
I keep hearing about Colourpop and it’s great that they look out for their international customers too! I love that they’re CF since more brands should embrace it. That said, I’m probably not going to order anything because I’m broke! xD

That lipstick is so cute! I live in the UK so have never heard of Colourpop before, they ship to the UK though so I am going to have to buy some things. I’m thinking the lipstick, mascara and hydrating concealer.
I use a Colourpop lip and cheek tint with 2-in-1 colors. Love it. I’ll keep an eye out for these too ♡

You definitely got a great haul there! Love all those pretty beauty products!
Awesome products. my sister is looking for a better mascara because I think old one is not suitable for her. Thank you for sharing it.
Jake bought me some bits for my birthday this year as they released some coloured liners and I absolutely ADORED them. I got a few different shades and I honestly cannot recommend them enough. I did also get a few lippie stix I think they’re called? But I’m yet to properly test them out, oops. They are gorgeous shades, though. The blush stix sound like something I’d REALLY want to try at the moment. As much as I love a full glam look, I’m leaning much more towards a natural glow with my makeup now I’m getting older and have drier skin. I recently tried a cream Charlotte Tilbury contour and highlight and I bloody love them so I’d love to find a cream blush to go with them that’s actually affordable to top up. This had made me want to do my own haul now, damn you Sophie.

Love this! I’ve been wanting to try their products but I’ve always been to overwhelmed when I go to their site haha
It is awesome that you have a cruelty-free beauty haul! I need to do a better job with this area, especially when I want to be more environmentally cautious and overall more humane through the products I use. Oooh! I like that you got a lot with the price you paid. I am a BIG fan of the lipstick’s color. That’s my vibe! I haven’t tried anything from Colourpop before. My whole makeup stack is from Chanel @__@.

I just love ColourPop, they’re my favourite brand. I love how their makeup and skincare is all so affordable, but they still have amazing quality. I also love how often they launch new products, although my bank balance not so much. I need that eyeshadow palette, it’s beyond stunning! The perfect neutral shades xx

I’ve never tried anything from Colourpop before but I love that they’re cruelty free. I have been a LOYAL NARS user for many, many years and their decision to break into the Chinese market and change their ethos on animal cruelty hasn’t sat well with me and I’m slowly trying to find other brands to break away from them
