Tired Skin Handbag Essentials

Maybe not essentials but if you’ve got a flight coming up, you’re that girl who always gets the early train when you’re still half asleep or you just generally look a little rough on a morning, this is for you.

All of these products can fit into even the smallest of handbags and an be used under or over makeup, making them the perfect pick-me-up.

 The Everyday Essential

Hydrating mists are great for a million different things, stop your makeup looking cakey, add a little moisture, refreshes you on a warm day, the mist wakes you up a little when you’re tired. They just make you feel better in general. Now you can get these at all sorts of price points, but my long-time favourite is this one from Clinique. It’s fragrance free, making it great for sensitive skin. Alcohol free; which is great in general, and you don’t want to be spraying drying alcohol all over your tired, dehydrated skin anyway. And it contains hyaluronic acid to treat that dehydrated skin. This one is a great skincare product, not just a rosewater with a nicely refreshing spritz.

The Everywhere Essential

Every woman needs an eye rollerball in her bag, on her desk, on her dressing table and a spare one in her coat pocket, just in case. Or maybe just one you take everywhere. These rollerballs usually contain caffeine which helps make the eyes look more awake. The rollerballs themselves are cooling and refreshing and instantly reduce puffiness. The cold sensation on the skin wakes you up quite abruptly too. I believe the one I’ve got here got discontinued as they launched a new rollerball in the pep-start range. Simple also make a similar one.

The Non-Essential Essential

You totally don’t need these. But you need to get some now. I love these things. They look and sound gimmicky but they work. Now I know that the average person wouldn’t necessarily use these in public, but I totally would. If you’re looking slightly zombie-esque as you get on the train on a morning and you have a little time to kill, I would totally recommend. Oh and they’re vegan and free from all fragrance and pretty much every nasty chemical you can think of.

Mini Review

I first got these in a Skyn Iceland pack back in October and I promised a follow up on whether they work. Three months later, here it is. They’re great. I was concerned when I first opened them as I thought they would be too big for my tiny head. While they are bigger than they’re supposed to be, they still fit comfortably around the eyes. Something everything in this post has in common, they’re cooling so you get that instant refreshing feeling.

You stick them on your face like one of those peel off adhesive pads which felt weird, but on the plus side they’re not at all messy. They’re comfortable to wear, so comfortable that I wore them for half an hour rather than the recommended ten minutes. The best part? When I took them off my face felt so unbelievably soft. This isn’t something I ever say about my eyes. I have really dry skin and annoyingly, my undereye area is the driest part. When I took these things off I felt like I had baby skin, and I hadn’t slept the night before, so I was not looking fresh when I started.

You can buy them on their own or in a pack of various face gels. Please don’t buy them all before I have a chance to restock. Much appreciated.

If I’d have tried these sooner they would have 100% made it into my Best New Additions of 2017 post, without a doubt. *buys hundreds of them*

Until next time,

Sophie

I haven’t used Clinique in a bit but I know they’re products really provide results. I really wanted to get my hands on that skyn eye gel! I’m hoping my aunt can’t bring when she’s coming in. You always have some great products.

I love Clinique skincare, especially their Turnaround and Moisture Surge ranges. Definite A+ from me and my dry skin. I’ve been hearing about Skyn Iceland quite a bit, but haven’t really tried them out. I must look into it.

I used to always use Clinque! But I stopped mainly because it was getting expensive! But I really like their moisture surge for dry skin! I still have a little container of that!
I have a weakness for seeing skincare products and I really loved this post!
🙂 Keep up the amazing work!

Tired skin? Yup, this post was definitely written for me! I don’t currently have a hydrating mist in my collection but I’m now convinced that I need the Clinique one that you use, anything alcohol-free that dehydrates skin can only be a good thing! The Skyn Iceland packs you’ve been using are so intriguing, I’d love to try them out – they certainly seem to have made an impact for you!

I hear a lot of things about Clinque skincare though I’m cautious since I have psoraisis although I may have to try and have a lot and perhaps get a tester after reading this.

  23. 18th January 2018 / 6:09 pm

What a great post! Clinque doesn’t seem to work for my skin but the other products look amazing. Great reviews X

I don’t treat my under eyes as well as I should, and I love Clinique products so I might have to give their new roller a try!

I also learnt last week that my local M&S sell LOADS of skyn products, which is going to be terrible for my bank balance, especially after seeing these eye gels!
