A couple of weeks ago I did a post about skincare I don’t really have a lot of love for. I’d like to keep this a positive place so in return this is a post dedicated to products I love, that someone on the internet made me buy. And in the spirit of positivity, this one is going to feature more products than the last one, starting with my favourite.
Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm
My last post featured everyone’s favourite Oskia cleanser, but before Oskia there was Emma Hardie. This has been my primary cleanser for about three and a half years now. Everyone on the internet loved it from Zoella to skincare maven Caroline Hirons. Whenever I’m breaking out or have a weird reaction to something this always leaves my skin feeling amazing. The right consistency of oil means that it doesn’t clog my pores but is perfectly nourishing at the same time. A little bit pricey, but it lasts forever.

Pai Rosehip Oil
This stuff had its five minutes of fame a very long time ago (in internet popularity terms) now. I believe it was around 5/6 years ago that everyone was raving about this and I don’t understand why the popularity fizzled out. This oil stands out to me as its one of the only ones I use all year.
The formula is thick so it feels intensely moisturising on dry skin, but the vitamin A in it also makes it great on acne prone skin too. Despite the heavy texture I’ve never thought this oil felt heavy on my skin and has never made any breakouts worse. It layers well with serums and moisturisers; never seems to ‘ball up’ when mixed with other things. On top of that, it’s a very reasonable price. The only downside, I like to apply a thick layer before bed and it’s bright orange. It does stain the sheets. Apply with caution.

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads
Another one first brought to my attention by Caroline Hirons, and another one that seemed to fall off the radar. I love these because I have such sensitive skin, and they’re convenient. While some people don’t like the fact they have a rather mild pH, this makes them great for people like me who can’t hack super strong exfoliators on a regular basis. While they do make my skin tingle a tiny bit, the levels are manageable and they don’t leave my skin feeling so raw that anything I apply afterwards burns my skin. Used once in a while they will not be that effective. They are not by any stretch of the imagination a quick fix product but they are good for day-to-day keep the texture at bay kind of usage. The disposable pads aren’t the most environmentally friendly but they are super compact and great for travel.

Sarah Chapman Skinesis Intense Hydrating Booster
I’ve spoken about this a million times; I’m not going to bore you talking about this again. It’s great, it hydrates and never irritates. For me this is a holy grail item, desert island essential, whatever you want to call it. At one point literally every single person I followed was talking about this, a lot of them still do.

Effaclar Duo
This is a strange one for me. I have dry skin and I’m not acne prone so this one doesn’t get a lot of love that often. However whenever I try something new that looks like it’s clogging my pores or start to get hormonal breakouts, I always reach for this. It’s technically an exfoliating moisturiser which is an odd combination for most people but the light dose of salicylic acid never fails me. Salicylic is an ingredient my skin seems to love and doesn’t irritate in the way that acids like glycolic can. It’s nicely mattifying without feeling drying and always fixes my skin in a couple of days. As it’s extremely affordable and (almost) always on offer somewhere I think it’s a great product to have stashed away somewhere for those ‘just in case’ moments.

Do you have any of these products? What are your favourite ‘the internet made me buy this’ items? I’d love to find something new!
I used to love Effaclar Duo, but for some reason I haven’t used it in years – I need to get my hands on it again!xx

I love Effaclar! I don’t use it all that often but I love having on there in case of emergencies. I find it always works for me and it’s still nice and gentle x

I might not be hype coz I haven’t hear of any of these. I am not really good at skincare but it is good that they live up to expectations! xx corinne
