AD| You may already be aware of the skincare brand JUNOCO, and you’ve probably seen people rave about them on TikTok. But who are they, and is JUNOCO worth the hype?
Who is JUNOCO?
A little background – they’re based in California and specialise in simple, affordable and environmentally friendly skincare. By affordable, I mean their skincare products are all £10-20, and the three that I’m going to be talking about today are £15 or less.
Sustainability
The basics – they’re vegan and the bottles/ jars are recyclable, including the boxes the products arrive in.
On a larger scale, the brand is free from microplastics and other irritants that will eventually wash down into the ocean —which can damage the ecosystem and their minimal ingredients approach causes less pollution during production.
My Skin
Before you read any skincare review, I think it’s important to know the face that’s trying it. My skin is bone dry, extremely sensitive, has some texture issues due to the dryness, but I don’t suffer at all with acne, blackheads or have any real issues with clogged pores.
Is JUNOCO Worth the Hype?
Social media can very easily get you excited about a product or brand, but unfortunately, they don’t always live up to your expectations, and you often find yourself disappointed.
Clean 10 Cleansing Balm
£13.99

Unfortunately for me, when I saw what was coming my way, one of the products was their most hyped product on social media, their Clean 10 Cleansing Balm. Which was also the product I was most excited to try, so my expectations were high before the box had even reached my door.
And I wasn’t disappointed.
This cleansing balm is absolutely incredible. For me, it has the most divine texture. As I have dry skin, I like cleansers that feel more nourishing than stripping. But when it comes to cleansing balms, there’s a very fine line between nourishing and greasy sometimes. The Clean 10 Cleansing Balm does the most incredible job of leaving my skin feeling clean, nourished, yet not at all greasy. It leaves no residue left behind, it isn’t sticky or greasy, but it still leaves skin feeling baby soft and healthy -amazing.
In terms of texture, this balm melts down to an oil very quickly and the product has a lot of slip, so it’s very easy to spread around your face and into tricky spots that makeup loves to stick to, like the side of your nostrils.
Product Claims and Ingredients
Promises to be suitable for all skin types. With only 10 ingredients, the balm claims to effortlessly dissolve makeup and dirt, including waterproof makeup. It boasts a tangerine scent with gentle and moisturising properties.
I think they came through with all of the claims, but I think my fellow dry skin folk will probably enjoy this one slightly more than those of you with oily skin.
An important note, citrus ingredients are typically one of my biggest irritants but I didn’t have any issues with this at all even after a couple of weeks of using it most days. If it wasn’t for the light citrus scent, I wouldn’t have known there was a citrus oil in this product at all.
Inci List:
Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Caprylic/ Capric Triglyceride, PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Synthetic Wax, Polysorbate 85, Saccharomyces/ Coix Lacryma-Jobi Ma-Yuen Seed Ferment Filtrate, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Water, Butylene Glycol
Clarifying Cleansing Powder
£15

A cleansing powder. I was intrigued, I’d never used a product like this prior to this one, and I wasn’t at all sure how it was going to work, but very interested in giving it a go.
It’s a powder in a bottle, that you pour out, add a little water to and then it turns into a lightly foaming wash.
I’m going to be honest, this one isn’t for me. I liked the texture, and it works incredibly well as a cleanser, removing stubborn and waterproof products effortlessly, but it doesn’t leave my skin with that same soft nourished feeling that the balm does. Balms are my preference when it comes to cleansers anyway, so I’m not surprised that Clean 10 is my favourite of the two, but I think that this one could be great as a first cleanse followed by something more nourishing, or a go-to cleanser for those with oilier skin.
Other than leaving my skin a little drier than I’d like, there are no complaints with this one either. I had no sensitivity issues, and it didn’t leave my skin feeling totally stripped, but had that ‘clean’ feel rather than softening.
Product Claims and Ingredients
This cleanser claims to deliver intense hydration and protection as well as a gentle exfoliation. After using this unique cleansing powder, your skin is supposed to feel softer, look more radiant, and appear more even in tone. It promises to be suitable for sensitive skin too.
Inci List:
Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, Diglycerin, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Lees Extract, Cellulose Gum, Maltodextrin, Papain, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Powder
Cleansing Cookie
£7

This pad is one of the softest things I’ve ever felt in my life. It’s fluffy blanket levels of soft, which feels like heaven on the face.
I used this in place of my regular washcloth to rinse my balm off, and that was possibly the greatest combination my skin has seen. It was so unbelievably gentle, and my dry skin never feels that soft before it’s been moisturised.
Typically, I use micellar water to remove my makeup before I cleanse because seeing all of the products running into each other when I go straight in with cleanser, and the sight of a cloth with a full face of makeup on it makes me gag. So, I’ve only ever used this after I’ve already removed my makeup and haven’t seen this looking filthy, but it’s pretty easy to keep clean when it’s only had product residue on it.
It rinses really easily with a pump of hand soap to get the excess makeup/ cleanser residue off if you want/ need to use this a few times before it goes in the wash. And when it’s ready for a proper clean rather than a rinse, it can go in the washing machine so it’s really low maintenance to keep clean.
I never want to use anything else to remove my makeup or wash my face again.
Product Claims
The Cleansing Cookie is a reusable cleansing pad that removes makeup and dirt from your face without making a mess. It’s made from 100% cotton and promises to offer a cloud-like texture for a fresh, soft and clean face. And it’s machine washable, so easy to clean.
100% true.
Would I recommend?
100%. If you couldn’t tell, I’m obsessed with two of the three products I was sent and will definitely repurchase both when the time comes. For those of you blessed with normal skin, you’ll probably like both cleansers, and the three products I’ve mentioned today are available in a discounted cleansing bundle if you want to try both. But if your skin is either extremely dry or oily, there’s a cleansing option whatever your skin type.
Which product are you most excited to try?
Until next time,
Sophie
I love honest reviews of skin care products. My skin is older, similar to yours. I’m definitely going to see if I can find this balm in Canada. Thanks for sharing!
This sounds like a fairly decent brand; I had not heard of them so it was great to read your review. I shall have to check them out!
I loved reading your review! Just like you, the balm and cleansing pad were my faves as well. The Cleansing Cookie is the softest thing I’ve ever used. I love it! My skin is on the oily side, and I still find the balm to be lightweight enough that it doesn’t feel greasy. Glad to hear you had a great experience too 🙂
