So I just did something I haven’t done since I was 17 and had the most horrific burning sensation at a Dior counter. I bought a new founda
tion online, without trying it first.
To some people this is very normal. For me this is serious. For every five foundations I try I probably have some sort of reaction to at least three of them. And the consequences of these reactions can last for weeks; flaking, redness, scaring, burning. You name it, I get it all.
But with one of the biggest launches of the year, a reasonable price tag and the nearest store being the best part of two hours away, I decided to take the plunge.
First of all I was pleasantly surprised to see an alcohol free matte foundation. That’s one of my main rules. No denatured alcohol in cosmetics, but many companies choose to use it as it’s a cheap ingredient that gives a quick dry down and matte finish. Props to Rihanna for not taking the easy route there.
While there are no glaringly obvious ‘bad’ ingredients in this foundation, it is fragranced and contains a fair few fruit extracts, neither of which are ideal for sensitive skins.
This foundation also does not contain SPF which may be a negative for some. Personally. this makes me quite happy as it’s one less irritant to worry about. Is it good for sensitive skin? Time will tell.

UPDATE: After wearing this foundation for two days it has not caused any irritation on my face at all. However when I was taking swatch photos there was a strong tingling sensation on my arm where I had placed the swatch.
If you have sensitive skin I would highly recommend getting a sample of this foundation before purchasing it that’s possible.
