Okay, I know that green smoothies aren’t for everyone, and that’s fine. Buut they’re something that I’ve been gravitating to a lot recently, and when I was sipping away on one one day while going over my planned content for this month, I realsied there’s been a green smoothie recipe in every Recipe A Day May so far. Well, it seemed wrong to break the tradition, so here’s my 2021 green smoothie recipe.
This one is very different from ones in years gone by. The first one was a push to tell you that green can still be delicious and sweet, it had mango sorbet in it. After that there was a fruity one with a big focus on healthy fats. Followed by a smoothie bowl with a focus on healthy green goodness.
The 2021 model is all about healthy fats again, this is the least sweet one so far, but it’s rich and creamy with just enough sweetness for you to forget about the health benefits.
Over the last couple of years, avocadoes have become a staple ingredient in my smoothie bowls for the creaminess they bring. I say this every time, but I’m saying it again anyway, the avocado is there purely for texture. You cannot taste the avocado in this recipe. I promise.
And some of you may recall that I went through a real pumpkin seed butter phase last year. Well, that’s back and adding more healthy fats to this recipe.

2021 Green Smoothie Recipe
A healthy green smoothie recipe to start your day, full of lots of nutrients, as well as being a balanced source of healthy fats and protein.
I didn’t feel the need to add ice to mine as the majority of the ingredients are chilled, but if you wish to include some, add a little bit more of your milk alternative of choice.
This recipe is gluten free, dairy free, nut free and vegan. I used vanilla soy milk in mine, but simply switch to another sweetened milk alternative to make this soy free too.

Creamy Green Smoothie Recipe

- ½ cup sweetened non-dairy milk I used vanilla soy
- 75 g spinach
- 100 g vegan Greek style yoghurt

I love pumpkin seeds — my phase was spinach juicing last year. This sounds delicious! I like using pea protein in the mornings sometimes with fruit and yoghurt.

I just find green smoothies hard because it’s a green combo in general that I like, but I feel like kale and kiwi sounds really good, I guess kiwi hasn’t stood out to me because I never see them and when I do I don’t buy them because I hate peeling the skin off lol.
I need to try and introduce smoothies into my diet, as they can really help you get the nutrients you need! Thank you for sharing these fantastic suggestions x
This looks delicious! I usually don’t enjoy green smoothies much but this one sounds too yummy to miss out on, so definitely going to be trying this soon x
They always look good to me and taste awful! I’m afraid to try them now. The spinach in this scares me LOL I’m a chicken.
