This post is a little bit different. I’ve spoken quite a bit over the last year or so about trying to transition to CF beauty, using up some of my non-CF makeup in my project pan this year, and I’ve explained that I’m keeping a few of my non-CF things out of necessity. But, there are a few other things I’ll be sad to see go. This post is dedicated to the non CF products I’ll miss the most, the items there’s no legitimate reason to keep in my collection or repurchase, but I’ll be sad when I run out.

While this might seem a little strange to talk about favourite products I won’t repurchase, I’m hoping you guys can help. As these are products I will miss when the time comes to say goodbye, if you know of any CF dupes/ alternatives to any of the products listed in this post, please let me know in the comments.
Why am I keeping some non-CF items?
I explained this fully in a post last year, but in brief, I have extremely sensitive and very fair skin. Products that don’t irritate my skin are extremely limited, and brands that go pale enough for my skin limits that even more. So, basically, I’m keeping hold of a few of my foundations that aren’t CF because I don’t know of/ haven’t yet found a CF alternative that has the same/ similar finish, is available in my shade and doesn’t irritate my skin. The only items I’m keeping are foundations, because all of my concealers are CF. And beyond that, around 90% of my skincare is already CF; the only item I’m currently planning on repurchasing if I haven’t found an alternative by next summer is my dry touch SPF (I have a more moisturising SPF that’s CF lined up for winter).
Any kind of colour cosmetics like a blush etc will be replaced by something CF.
In total, I think I have 6 non CF products I’m planning on repurchasing at this moment in time. Everything else is being replaced when the time comes.
Non CF Products I’ll miss the most
Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation

I think I’ve owned one of these since I was about 14, which is crazy to think about. But this foundation has always come through for me. The shade range isn’t great, and that’s always been the biggest negative for this product, but this foundation holds a very special place for me. Every foundation/ BB cream etc with SPF in gives me a rash, SPF is a huge irritant for my skin in general, but it’s a complete no go when it comes to colour cosmetics. Yet the Rimmel foundations have never done this to me, literally the only foundations with SPF I’ve ever used that don’t cause skin irritation. And I have no idea why because it isn’t any special/ rare SPF they use. And this foundation is fuller coverage, which I never usually opt for, yet somehow don’t dislike with this one.
It has everything I don’t like about a foundation, yet I always come back to it and it seems to be the exception to every rule. And it’s worked for my skin basically since the day I started wearing makeup. I’ll be very sad to say goodbye to this one.
Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask

Clinique Moisture Surge used to be one of my favourite skincare lines full stop. I had every product in the range at one point. Some products have been discontinued over the years; others have been reformulated in a way that I didn’t like. But this product is the second one I ever tried from the line. To the best of my knowledge, it hasn’t been reformulated in that time and it’s a product I use all year round (not daily, but frequently). It’s light enough to not be heavy or leave residue, but the slightly creamier texture feels lovely on skin that is both dry and dehydrated.
I know a HA based overnight mask/ moisturiser won’t be too hard to replace because so many brands offer one, but much like the Rimmel foundation, this product has been with me a very long time.
Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Cream

I have dry skin, and my undereye area is the location that suffers the most. And this thick gooey green goo makes it feel amazing. This is another product I’ve been using since I was about 18/19 (I’m realising a lot of these products have sentimental value/ nostalgia attached to them as we go) and it was one of those things that just worked. I basically stopped looking at new eye creams after a year or so of using this because I didn’t think I’d find anything I liked more. Hopefully the fact I haven’t used another one (other than eye gels/ rollerballs) for many years means I’ll be blown away by something new when it’s time to replace this one.
Nuxe Reve de Miel

Everyone who has ever had dry lips has heard someone rave about Reve de Miel, and for very good reason. It’s one of the best at dry lip recovery. I have other lip balms that are great for dry lips, but this one dries matte which has always been a major selling point for this one. I’ve never liked glossy lips, so this one has always been great under lipstick for me!
Initially, I was going to include five, but when it came to it these four were the only ones that I thought I’d truly miss, which I guess is a good thing.
If you only use cruelty free products, do you have any items you still miss?
Until next time,
Sophie
These are some really good recommendations. Thank you so much. Very excited about NUXE REVE DE MIEL.

First off, what you’re doing going most CF is amazing, it’s important we start making changes like this, but I also understand what it’s like to have the perfect non-CF product that you simply don’t know how to replace. Rimmel London foundation is among the only ones that work with my skin so I don’t know if I could give it up unless I found it’s counter part that’s CF.
I am trying to incoporate vegan products on my every day routine so this type of posts help me a lot! Thanks you for sharing it! xx
For me it is crazy that if other brands can be CF why can’t all? Thank you for sharing this post as I know what other brands I should not purchase.

I don’t know why, but I would’ve assumed Kiehls were cruelty-free. That’s such a shame, I love their products x
