AD – Gifted content | Stay with me here because the next paragraph is going to sound incredibly rich coming from a food blogger. Recipes – do you ever find yourself in the mood for something, Google some recipes, then find some that look amazing and sound delicious? Only to find you need about 45 different spices to make it happen? You don’t want to buy in bulk for a dish you may only make a few times a year. But you don’t want to make it with things missing and have it not live up to your expectations. So, you have a few options. Choose something else? Try and order a takeout version instead? Or make the stripped back version and put up with it maybe not being quite as good. If only there were little spice pots of premixed spice mixes you could use instead…

While having an entire slightly overflowing cupboard full of worldly spices is a foodie’s dream, that isn’t always practical. Whether you have a small kitchen, live in shared accommodation and don’t have the space or you’ve just moved into your own place and your spice rack is in its early development stages, you don’t have to sacrifice on space or flavours.
I’ve recently been playing with a selection of vegan curry spices I was sent, and I think they’d be great for so many people.
Spice Pots Vegan Curry Kit

Whether you fit into one of the categories listed above, you’re a newbie in the kitchen or you simply want something that’s easy and convenient to use, these pots are great. There are several kits available, including letterbox kits (£12.95) that are just spice mixes in bags without the pots. But the vegan kit (£14.95) comes with 4 spice blends of varying levels of spiciness. All of them are also gluten free and nut free, making them a great potential gift for anyone with difficult dietary requirements (totally not thinking at all about myself right now). Each kit also comes with a small recipe book containing 8 recipes, so you’re pretty much set as soon as you open the box.
Looks good?
Plus, the pots are really nice and would look cute displayed in most kitchens. I mean I’m not telling you to buy something just for the packaging, but it does look good…

Speaking of good looking pots, I think these kits would make great small gifts. Whether that’s for a foodie friend of yours or as a small gift for someone moving out or heading to uni, they’re a reasonably priced aesthetically pleasing gift set.
Of the four spice pots in the vegan kit, I’ve tried three so far and they’ve all been delicious and well balanced. Never trust someone who makes recipes to strictly follow someone else’s. I did add a little pinch to make things my own here and there. But that’s me being me, they’re all delicious as they come.

All of the photos in this post are of dishes I’ve made following the recipes that came with the kit. So, if you’re scrolling through thinking any of it looks good, you can shop the Spice Pots Vegan Recipe Kit here.
Are you a fan of pre mixed spice blends or do you prefer to mix your own?
Until next time,

Great post! I love curries so thank you for sharing this!
Okay these sounds incredible! I relate so much to the first paragraph. I always end up just not using the spices and can end up being disappointed as you said haha. I’ll definitely need to try these x
This looks incredible! I’ve been meaning to up my curry game for a while, and you’re right those spice pots look beautiful.
Oo this is a great idea! I love mixing my own spices but being a uni student find it way easier (and cheaper!) to buy the pre-mixed blends. Love this idea x

These look so handy! I love trying to make my own curries so defo going to try these out!
Those kits sound so handy! I always look at recipes and there are so many different herbs and spices you need that I just give up and make something else but this would be really helpful for that! X
This looks incredible; and so tasty! My best friend is going back to uni this year (if Coronavirus permits, anyway) so I will have to get her some of these – they are great. Thanks for sharing x

The spice pots look great, I totally get what you mean about the packaging.. they would look so nice in the kitchen haha. I’ve seen a few things like these, my mum was recently telling me about one of the spice things she buys and you get a recipe with them and all you need is the other ingredients. It’s a great idea!

I do like being able to mix my own spice blends, but these sound really convenient! My dad loves cooking, so these might make a decent gift for him as well. Thanks for sharing!
I think pre mixed spice blends are fine to use in cooking, I think it does save a lot of time and hassle! x

Very ready to make some curry asap! Thanks for the post
We are lucky enough to have a cabinet of all the spices in the world, since there are seven of us and we all love to cook. My mother is from Pakistan, so of course her native spices feature prominently in our food. I love to mix my own spice blends, but the spice pots look like a real time-saver. 🙂
Oh, my goodness this looks and sounds delicious! I love curry and as a vegetarian this suits me so well! Thanks for sharing!
Those spice pots sound amazing! I bet they definitely help making dinner a little more easier! Thanks so much for sharing, this all looks so delicious!

I love a well flavored and spicy curry so this looks absolutely divine.
Thank you for constantly showing that vegan food is more than just salads and roasted veggies !
Half the time I’m not sure what some of the ingredients are never mind, actually having them in the cupboard. The spice pots do look pretty cool too.
Yep I have limited number of spices and each time wish I could use more. It gives any food so much more flavor!

I like curry♥
WOW! Recipes with a ton of spices is something else!! I’ve seen some stores offering a premix spice pack, which saves you so much money and effort. I like that there is a vegan curry kit that is super affordable. The plate looks delicious! If the premix spice blends have all of the ingredients I agree with, I’d use that instead.

I love pre-mixed spice blends, I like the convenience of them and they seem to have spices that I sometimes can’t find and seem to just taste better to me, to be honest.
Nice!
Recipes with a ton of spices is something else.
I saw these at our grocery store! Will have to give them a try.
This is such a great post. I’m a huge fan of pre-blended spices because they tend to get it just right.
Ooh these look really handy! I’m definitely always put off by recipes that say you need like 45 herbs and spices. And more often than not, they’re ones I’ve never even heard of!
I haven’t tried made pre-made spice mixes but they look great x
Ooh I love things like this! I’ve been wanting to try out some new recipes but hate when there’s about a million different spices I need so something like this is ideal xx
