(AD) I’m sure most of us have taken some sort of vitamin supplements at some point. Whether that’s a general multivitamin or you take a little cocktail, the majority of us take something. And if you’re one of those people who takes a few, today’s post is for you. Today I’m unboxing my recent Sundose custom vitamins order and talking you through the order process.
One issue I have with multivitamins is that the majority of us do not need all of the ingredients in there. I take my vegan multivitamin to get my B12, top up my iron and calcium (to be cautious) but I know fine well I eat way too many vegetables to need most of the B vitamins in there. So, when Sundose asked if I wanted to try their custom vitamins, I loved the concept.
How it works
It’s very simple, you fill out a questionnaire with 62 questions as a general diet and health overview, this is where you can state any allergies or requirements. You’re then contacted by someone on their team to see if there’s anything in particular you’d like to improve (more energy, better skin etc). At this point they also ask if you’ve had any recent blood tests so they can see if you actually need anything. Then a week or so later a month’s supply of custom vitamins arrives at your door. Sounds pretty good, right?

The Questionnaire
The Basics
It asked a variety of questions, everything from daily caffeine consumption to if you have any digestive or skin issues, as well as basics like your height, weight, and physical activity levels. As you guys know, I pay a lot of attention to general nutrition, so when it asked certain questions regarding diet, I could tell it was looking for certain potential deficiencies. One of the first questions was about dietary exclusions, it gives you a list of common ones, so I ticked no gluten & vegan, but there’s also a box for you to type in something if you have a less common allergy.
There was also a shameful moment where it asked how many hours you spend looking at a screen a day (erm…all of it) and whether your eyes ever get blurry/ tired after looking at a screen for an extended period (guilty).
Medical History
In terms of medical history rather than general health questions, it asked if I’d taken antibiotics in the last 4 years (no) and if I had any chronic health conditions or took any long term medication (diabetic/ insulin).
Overall, I’d say the questionnaire was thorough but straightforward. However, there were a few questions that I struggled with a little. It asked things like do you struggle with concentration or do you forget things and the answers were a simple yes or no. I think I speak for most of us when I say the answer to those questions is sometimes. We all have the odd day where we can’t seem to get anything done. And we all forget things every now and then for one reason or another, so I wasn’t too sure what to put for those ones. In the end I answered yes, and it then gave you an option to say how frequently you struggle with these things from less than once a week up to everyday.
It only took about 5 minutes to complete, then I was ready to checkout.
My Vitamins
Once you’ve completed the questionnaire, it comes up with a recommended supplement, you’re then contacted by a dietician to go over some further details to perfect your individual supplements. I said although I didn’t have any main health goals I wished to improve on, something for hair (we know all about that) and nails would be good, and easy for me to see if I’m getting results.
The vitamin content in my supplements was slightly different to what as on the screen when they arrived, but most things were similar.
When They Arrived
Mine showed up the Saturday before New Year (how appropriate for any New Year health/ wellness goals). Once I opened the postage bag, I found a large cardboard box, this had all of the vitamin information on the back of it and some instructions for taking it. Inside the box is a neat orange Sundose box that could easily slide into your cupboards/ on your worktops. This box contained the individual sachets. The bulk of your vitamins are in a dissolvable powder, I opted for the orange flavour and it doesn’t taste much different from having a glass of squash on a morning. Alongside my drink, I have two tablets, then I’m good to go.

I’m going to catch up with you in a few weeks to let you know if I’m seeing results. If anyone wants to try their own custom vitamins in the meantime, you can get £20 off your first Sundose order with the code ‘glowsteadyy’.
Until next time,
Sophie

I love that the company takes the time to find out your individual situation. There are so many health-related products out there that treat us like ‘one size fits all’ and that’s just not true!
I LOVE THIS! Since having a baby I’ve been looking into vitamins and looking after myself. I’ll definitely be checking Sundose out – thanks for sharing!

I’ve not really taken vitamins in the past before, but this company sounds great. I love that you can choose what flavour you want the vitamin powder to be since these can be tricky to take sometimes if you really don’t like the taste of them. I’m also really impressed with how thorough the questionnaire was, you can really see that you’re getting your money’s worth with the purchase since it really addresses what is good for you. I look forward to the follow up post to see how well you got on with them x

This is absolutely fascinating! I take a daily (chewy) vitamin and some vitamin D supplements because my levels are low, but I’ve always been intrigued about curated vitamin companies. I’m surprised and delighted to see that Sundose is so thorough! I’ll definitely check them out. Thanks!
These look so promising! I hate taking tablets of any kind so I’m really put off by multivitamins but love the idea of these dissolving into a drink. Can’t wait to see what you think of them in the long run! xx

I’ve heard about custom vitamins lately! It is great because it caters to your needs and gives you the right amount of nutrition per day. It sounds really easy to go through and love that the drink wasn’t bad at all. The last thing I want is to drink something that’s hard to process. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this experience!

Ooh this sounds so good! I’m looking forward to seeing your review about whether they seem to be working for you. This isn’t something I’ve heard of before, but I’m definitely intrigued! Great post!
