AD (Gifted)| The main reason most people eat on the go pots like these Moma Porridge Oats for breakfast is convenience, they’re easy to eat on your commute or at your desk and there’s no fuss with pans and oat milk, plus the bonus that you’re only adding a spoon to the washing up pile. But just because you can eat them out of the pot doesn’t mean that straight out of the pot doesn’t mean you can’t add some extras to make your pots a little more interesting.
I’ve made these pots three ways, shown in a bowl, just because it’s prettier to look at and easier to see. But you could easily add the things I’ve added to the pot and still eat them on the go at your convenience.
I’m starting with the Moma Cranberry & Raisin Pots, so the base is fruity. This particular flavour contains no added sugar, which could be the best or worst thing depending on your diet and/ or preferences. Personally, sweeter is almost always better, but I like adding some natural sweetness rather than a full sugar rush first thing in the morning (most of the time). If you like the idea of pretending to be healthy but would still enjoy the sugar, please go straight to option three.
3 Ways to Eat Moma Porridge Oats
Option 1 – Plain. Simply at water and you’re good to go. There’s nothing wrong with the pot alone, but I’m a fan of adding different flavours and textures to just about everything.
Of course, the fruit already in the pot adds texture, I’ll give it a 7/10, but there’s always room for improvement.

Option 2- Fruit & Nuts. Fresh blueberries and almonds add some extra sweetness, healthy fats and extra vitamins from both add-ins. I can’t explain why, but the addition of fresh fruit versus dried fruit makes me feel healthier. Bonus – it’s a great addition if you have a sweet tooth, but a healthy natural sweetness.
For me, having the crunch and the extra sweetness adds a point, so this one is an 8/10.

Option 3 – Sweet tooth but not that bad for you. It’s Sunday when I’m eating this, and this little pot is my way of saying I could be eating pancakes right now but I’m making the healthier choice. This little delight is a pot of Moma Cranberry & Raisin oats topped with chopped strawberries, chocolate chips and almond butter. The almond butter might not be quite as healthy as the fresh almonds in option two, but the almond butter with the choc chips is good for the soul. This option is a 10/10.

As you can see, none of these options are difficult to throw together even if you only have a minute to get out of the door. Providing your oats have had the few minutes they need after adding the water, you can add each of these toppings. And there’s more than enough room above the fill line to add some toppings and stir them in to eat on the go, so you don’t need access to a bowl, or to create the extra dishes on a morning.
Are you a fan of the no added sugar option or would you prefer to start your day with as much sugar as possible?
