I wasn’t going to do a yearly favourites as my ultimate favourites don’t change often; I’ve spoken about them all a million times already too. But I thought to celebrate the end of the year we could go through the new products that have impressed me the most this year. These aren’t necessarily new, but new to me and have found a regular place in my routine.

Peter Thomas Roth 10% Glycolic
I’m not going to spend a lot of time on this because I have a full post dedicated to this product, and I called it the best exfoliator ever. It takes a while to get used to but I love it now.

La Roche Posay SPF
I really wanted a new matte SPF this year. But a lot of them contain denatured alcohol which I’m not a fan of. I really like the one I already had but it isn’t available in the UK and buying beauty products on Amazon always makes me a little uncomfortable. This one is great, and affordable. Light texture, matte, absorbs well, no white cast. Great for sensitive skin, and as you can see, a very well loved tube.

New Moisturisers
Again they were both featured in a save, spend, splurge (the Ren won purely on price) but it’s been a while since I was blown away by a new moisturiser. I usually find the more rich ones either don’t sit well under makeup or they feel great for a few hours and then my skin feels dry again. Both of these feel nourishing and absorb well. No issues with makeup either.

Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm
Not my favourite cleanser ever but again, another product that took me by surprise. I’ve been loyal to Emma Hardie for a long time and I didn’t think anything was going to make me cheat on her, alas I really have been enjoying using this one. I think I’ll be using this one a lot more during the summertime too
Nearly but not quite
One final mention to another product that narrowly missed out on my top spots, the Skyn Iceland Arctic Facial Oil. I really like this product, but I have a lot of great oils and it didn’t quite compete. In recent weeks though I have been enjoying mixing this one with my more matte foundations to make them more winter friendly. Due to its thicker texture this one makes them more comfortable without thinning out the formula and reducing coverage.
Which products have blown you away this year? I can’t believe I’m doing a yearly favourites already! 2017 has flown.
I absolutely love mixing in facial oils with my foundations, it really does help keep those dry patches at bay and that subtle glow it gives looks amazing! Great favs! ☺️

I haven’t tried any of these products but it looks like I definitely need to! I’m off to read your post on the glycolic stuff after this one because I need a decent exfoliator in my life! The cleansing balm sounds divine too!

I have the same sunscreme and I love La Roche-Posay. Never used your other favourites but they all sound really nice.
Some of these products sound so good! I’m not sure if I would be able to write one of these posts as I wouldn’t know where to start and which to pick as I have so many favourites! Haha

I’d really like to try the REN moisturizing cream and you def have me interested in the Peter Thomas glycolic…I found one on Ulta but I may look into this one instead. Great post!

That thermal cleansing balm sounds really interesting, I’ve never come across anything like that before. I’m really into trying new things on my skin and I might just give this a go.

That one had a really interesting texture compared to other balms. It’s a bit (a lot) pricey but it’s a lovely product x

Love the sound of the thermal cleanser. I think this is a great idea for a round-up when your absolute favourites haven’t really changed, it’s still nice to recognise the products that have caught your attention!
I’ve become a big fan of skyn and REN products myself this year!
I’m really intrigued by the thermal cleansing balm too, though Omorovicza is just so expensive!
It is really pricey, I got it in a little set so it was slightly better value for money. I have a few REN favourites over the last 18 months or so, great brand and not too expensive either x
