WHAT I EAT IN A DAY WHOLE FOODS

Hi everyone, I told you in my March goals that this month I wanted to eat nothing but whole foods in attempt to make my stomach happier and be generally healthier. I know this sounds boring to some people, so I decided to show you what that really looked like for me. Obviously, everyone eats differently and this is just one day.

Breakfast

Smoothie Bowl

This is quite surprising for me. Usually as soon as October hits and it gets cold, I stay away from smoothie bowls for basically 6 months. Lately, they’re all I’ve been craving for breakfast. They’re a great way to add protein and healthy fats depending on your toppings.

I like to add protein powder to mine and I usually like to have some fresh fruit and something crunchy, whether that be nuts or some granola for a variety of textures.

Mine was after the gym on this day so the bowl was plentiful.

Snacks

Yes, I had a blueberry smoothie for breakfast, a blueberry muffin Nakd bar as a snack and I bought another blueberry smoothie later. Can you tell what my favourite fruit is? I like the Naked juices as they have added vitamins in them, including B12. In fact, a serving contains overe 100% of the amount of B12 you need in a day (using RDA as a guideline). This is great as it’s a vitamin many people don’t absorb well, I prefer to get mine from a few different places. I like to stick mainly to fruits and nuts as snacks generally rather than eating empty calories on something like crisps.

Dinner

Broccoli, Squash and Quinoa

I make this dish quite a lot. It’s really simple and tenderstem broccoli happens to be my favourite vegetable. This dish contains chilli roasted butternut squash, quinoa an tenderstem broccoli drizzled with a little balsamic vinegar and lemon juice.

There we have it, everything I ate on this particular day. There’s a really beauty in eating a whole foods diet, having so many fresh fruits and vegetables in your meals makes them look so vibrant and appetising.  To see a what I eat in a day for a non whole foods diet, click here.

Until next time,

    1. I totally get what you mean, I eat totally differently all the time too. That’s kind of why I’m doing themed ones like a whole foods version and an on the go version. This is definitely one day rather than every day! Thank you! And I look forward to reading the post x

  9. I’ve never made a smoothie bowl but god that looks gorgeous! I’m in love with the Naked smoothies too, the green one has to be my favourite though! I’d love to do something like this but I feel like I’m so uninventive with food. I definitely need to try using more flavourings!

  10. I love how you’ve shown that you can still be creative, even when eating a whole foods diet. I have a sensory disorder which means eating this way would be impossible, but your post SO makes me wish that I could. Well done on eating this way! I bet it makes you feel so much healthier.

  11. I love the look of breakfast and dinner but I don’t think I could go all day on those, I’d get too hungry! That said, I don’t think it would do any of my family any harm to try a whole food meal once every couple of days, certainly in summer anyway. Luckily for us, we all love blueberries ,and even grow our own, haha! xx

  14. All this looks really delicious! Especially that smoothie bowl – yum. 😀 I keep telling myself I need to be more creative with my breakfasts but because I eat it at work at my desk, it ends up being cereal. I think I just need some inspiration like this! 🙂

  15. That broccoli dish looks amazing and that smoothie looks so healthy! Good job for sticking to the whole foods.

ps: I love this idea ‘What I eat in a day” – might have to try it out myself!
