Hi guys, I thought it was about time that I gave a little update on some of the products I’ve been using lately. My last skincare routine post gave details on ‘The Hydration Sandwich’ routine that I follow but I didn’t go into major detail about products. Today, I’m going to be talking about the specific products I’m using right now and why they’re in my routine. You’ll have seen me mention most of these products before so I’m sorry if this gets a bit repetitive.
I mentioned in the first skincare week post that I’ve been loving both my Omorovicza cleanser and the Emma Hardie one lately. But, in recent weeks I’ve been using the Omorovicza one much more frequently. It has a lighter texture and doesn’t leave any kind of residue on the skin which makes it more comfortable in warmer weather.
I did a full review on the latest edition to my skincare routine the other day so I’m not going to talk about this much here. But this product is amazing and I’m a bit obsessed with it.
This is where the hydration sandwich comes in, I’ve actually been using a few different hydrating serums lately. My skincare collection is huge, so I’ve been trying to go through some of the products I don’t use all that often and rediscover some old favourites. Of course I’ve been loving my Sarah Chapman Hydration Booster, but I’ve also been reaching for my old favourite Hydraluron a lot more too.
I’ve been using another serum that contains oils rather than an actual oil. I mentioned a couple of months ago that I thought I’d shelved my Sarah Chapman Recovery Booster for a couple of months as it was warming up. That didn’t exactly go to plan. I’m not sure what happened, the sun usually makes my skin ‘normal’ rather than its regular bone dry. I don’t know whether it was simply because it warmed up suddenly rather than gradually, but this heatwave has made my skin winter dry. With the dryness comes extra irritation, so I’ve been using my Recovery Booster more than ever.
Depending on how dry my skin has been on the day, I’ve either been using my Ren Vita Mineral cream or Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask. While the overnight mask has a fairly heavy finish, it’s more hydrating than moisturising, so that has been for the less dry days and the Ren on my wintery skin days.
All finished off with the Kiehl’s Avocado, that never changes.
I forgot to mention in the introduction that this is my evening skincare routine. My morning routine is much simpler in comparison, but I have been using my Clinique Anti Wrinkle SPF30 on a morning, which is usually my in-between seasons SPF. Rather than the La Roche Posay Anthelios XL Anti-Shine, which is my usual summer SPF.
Which products have you been loving lately? How has your skin been handling the sun?
