Hi guys! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are feeling happy, full and rested. As the new year looms, I thought it was time for a change. I got a new theme, new host and I’m starting a NEW SHOP?!
So, my theme was supposed to go live today but as soon as I started playing around with it, I got impatient and it’s actually been live since around 5am Christmas Eve. But it was Christmas so no one really saw it. Yes, 5am. I started playing with it around 2am and couldn’t stop. Why am I like this? (Jas, if you’re reading this, we’re definitely the same person)
I loved my last theme (which was this one), but it didn’t load my featured slider tablet view, which I found really annoying. But only 3-5% of my views came from tablets, so I didn’t let that stress me out too much.
And it was free, I’d had it since day 1 and my blog had kind of outgrown it, I wanted some more customisable features. It served me well and I would always recommend it to anyone who doesn’t want to pay for a theme, but it was time for a change.
This one is Opulence by Pipdig, if anyone was wondering.
I’ve been tweeting about this for a while so I’m sure some of you are aware, but I’m ditching Siteground. It was a fun, cheap year, but it’s coming to an end. I don’t think the service is worth the cost of renewal, I have had a few issues with my hosting this year and I thought I’d try something new. I haven’t officially changed yet.
My site migration is booked for Saturday afternoon, but I opted to go with Lyrical. I’ve only bought 1 month with them to see how it goes, I’ll report back next month and let you know if I decide to stay with them longer. But I’m already impressed with their service. Because I’m waiting a few days to migrate (because I signed up CHRISTMAS EVE), they added those extra days to my hosting plan. And you get a few free stock images every month as well as a blogger resource pack. They sound great so far.
You can use code ‘GLOW10’ for 10% off any of their plans too.
For a little while now I’ve wanted to design some meal planner sheets. But that was just a passing thought, no real plans. Then I got the idea to write an eBook and everything changed. I thought about what I wanted to include in the eBook, then I realised that it all sounded very Veganuary appropriate. That was around three weeks ago. And the clock was ticking. I either needed to get my finger out and start cooking/ recipe planning and writing, or wait another full year.
I don’t have that level of patience.
So, I wrote my eBook.
What’s it about?
It’s an introductory guide to plant based nutrition. The beginning explains where you can find certain vitamins and minerals that people think are hard to find on a vegan diet. I talk about balance, what a balanced diet means to me and how I try to keep mine as balanced and healthy as possible. Then there’s a little section on all the things you hear a lot (that aren’t true) when you tell people that you’re plant based.
The next section is 18 recipes. 16 are new, 2 are blog favourites that are perfect examples of how to balance your meals from a nutrition perspective.
There’re five breakfast recipes, four snacks and sides, four under 20 minutes recipes and five mains. As always, they’re all as free from as possible for other allergies as well as vegan. It’s 100% gluten free, or things that can easily be swapped for a GF diet, like oats.
As this was written with Veganuary in mind, all recipes are fairly simple and all ingredients can be found in most supermarkets. Nothing too fancy or complicated.
It will be £5, but everything for sale can be bought with 25% off using the code ‘veganuary’ until January 15th. That includes the printables.
The other stuff?
So, those meal planner sheets I was talking about…
I have a grocery list sheet which is organised by areas of the supermarket, produce, fridges etc so you can plan your shop based on food location. It’s designed to make shopping easier and so you don’t miss things because you added carrots while you were in the middle of the cupboard stuff.
I also have meal planner sheets in a simple chart with sections for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.
Then, there’s one that combines the two. There’s somewhere to write ingredients you need for recipes with the option to tick them off if you already have them, with a shopping list as well.
I do have a couple more that aren’t quite ready as this post is going live. One is a nutrition tracker sheet that has lists of foods that include certain things like iron, with the option to tick off if you’ve had one that day. The other thing that’s yet to launch is a dinner party planner sheet. They will both be up by the end of the week so keep your eye out if you’re interested in either of those. I would have loved to have it all ready to launch together…but it’s all been done in a couple of weeks. It’s Christmas. I’m tired.
I’m so excited to finally be sharing my secret project with you! If you have any questions about any of the products please don’t hesitate to ask. The online shop has just launched so I’m sure there’ll be a couple of little kinks to iron out.
It’s all very new and exciting around these parts right now! I’d love to know your thoughts on the new theme. I’m still fiddling with the smaller details, it isn’t 100% perfect yet, but I’m loving it so far. I think it looks so much better on a mobile view (if you’re reading this on your phone please let me know). And please take a look at the shop!
Until next time,
